Bit of a heavy rock footballer looking at his name, Mother's of the Revolution must be proud of their half rock legend half footballer son.

Spurs realised at ht that they might actually be expected to win something so they threw it big style.

It's.........well very familiar territory for spurs. They come of a really really easy win. Kane is out and oh.. out of a cup.

Yep, they weren't the "Harry Kane" team tonight, just plain old Spurs.

It's a league cup game, it'll be forgotten about by the weekend. About as important as the u23 premier league these days, in reality. Even if when your team wins it its supposedly a good trophy to win, something we are all guilty of having said in the past.

I love this attitude, so what it's only a trophy, we have won a couple of them in the last few.........decades.
Any Cup is worth playing for, if not why do we count them when looking at how successful a club has been.
This is the attitude that actually makes a Cup seem worthless in the first place, supporters trying to convince themselves they didn't want it anyway.

EDIT......not a pop at you or your club in any way, just a general pop at anyone who devalues cups of any sort to make believe losing doesn't matter.

I'm just being honest, the FA Cup is going the same way. Teams like ourselves, Man Utd, Chelsea, City etc. playing 'B' teams up to quarter/semi final stage have devalued it, nothing to do with the fans attitude towards it.

Finishing top 4 and getting into the Champions League is the be all and end all of top flight football now. Do I agree with it? No. Do I think teams should be trying harder to add silverware rather than CL money? Yes. As long as the PL & CL are paying so much money then people are always going to value survival or CL football over the domestic trophies and they are only going to be a minor distraction for teams in the season.

I agree totally with this, I grew up believing anything was worth winning and still do.

Read my post back and put an edited in before you posted this because it looked a bit sarky <ok>

Fair enough Diego, I think we are on the same page (ish).

Its not really right and it ruins the spirit of football that fans would rather finish 4th and qualify for a tournament than they would winning a trophy but its just the way the games gone. Unbelievable how the likes of Sky & foreign investors/owners have managed to fool fans into actively supporting making the most money rather than winning trophies.

    I agree with you due.

The attitude of prem over all else is money driven but sadly it's also plastic.

When Leicester won something. When Wigan won something, when swansea won something.... it really mattered to their fans.

A lot of clubs in the prem are jipping their fans imo. You can start at West ham, go through newkie and all round back to spurs for it.

What I hate about arsenal so called fans is they totally devalue their recent fa cup wins. They devalue being the record winner of that trophy as they whine on and on and on about their manager... delivering trophies to them.

    Trophy =success in my book.

I would say the league cup initially no one cares. However it only tales a fee games to get to the semi finals and then it is something you want to win.

I would add that Tottenham playing at Wembley all season, including the cups, completely devalues the league and FA cup this season.

West Ham's landlords at London Stadium are on the verge of bankruptcy, with the Hammers at risk of being locked out of their ground
