http://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/artists/legendary-new-orleans-musician-fats-domino-dies-89/ The rock and roll musician Fats Domino has died at the age of 89. According to New Orleans TV station WWL-TV, Domino died early Wednesday surrounded by his family. Domino is credited with being one of the most important musical figures to break down racial barriers in the Fifties, becoming a sensation at a time in which black voices were almost entirely absent from US radio. Born to Creole parents in New Orleans in 1928, Domino began playing piano at an early age, and was recruited to join a local band when a bandleader spotted him performing at an outdoor barbecue. But Domino quickly eclipsed his fellow band members, becoming a sensation all his own. please log in to view this image Famous for Blueberry Hill, Ain't That A Shame etc but I'm Ready is my favourite Not many of the originals left now, maybe Jerry Lee and Little Richard. So long Fats.
Sadly for Girvan his boasts were idle, I'd love to have seen his face when I outed him on here, moreso when someone grassed him up to his work (A police station iirc). Happy times.
Nah, no free pizza was ever delivered, poor Derek was long on talk and short on action. I'll see if I can track down the "Outing" but I think it was the old forum.
