There’s still the FA cup, which although more of a Micky Mouse cup these days, it’s far less Mickey Mouse than this.
We haven't felt the bitter pangs of defeat for a while have we? Llorente missed a sitter earlier this season which concerned me.
This is about character now. Pochettino has not put the team in this position with his starting XI, the complacency of those on the pitch have.
Are we genuinely pissed off about being knocked out? Or is it just because it’s West Ham? This may keep Bilic in a job lads. That’s great news.
Wtf? You were cruising. I popped out and its 3-2 Big teams like spurs need good runs in these games as it helps the youngsters and those on the fringes. How can say llorente step in for Kane due to injury etc, and start firing from the off if he doesn't play
There is one one more League Cup fixture this year, and two more SF games in January. So three more games is not much of a run.
I get that mate but throw in league games and cl and its a lot of extra games. You can't just play players in under 23 etc and keep them match fit
Its the least painful cup to go out of, but it’s the worst team and in the way we did it that is the most gutting thing. And having to take a load of **** from West Ham fans tomorrow is annoying especially when I held back on the league game
Dont like losing, particulary to the Scam, but if we win at Old Toilet on Saturday this will be quickly forgotten.
Oh well, now we MUST win on Saturday to regain that winning momentum. Cup match, London derby so no surprise without our strongest team out. Too many changes but I'm not too miffed.
If Pochettino does hairdryers than I expect to see some pictures tomorrow of players with burnt skin on their faces.
It’s would have been nice to still be in this competition, but with CL football and the FA cup, it’s still a lot of games. It’s all well and good saying that squad players get a chance, which they do, but at the same time so many of the first team play so frequently so the team isn’t completely disrupted. Look tonight at how many first team players played the majority of the game or 90 mins. Toby Davies Trippier Son Dele Dier Sissoko Horrible to lose to West Ham, but it we’d been kicked out by city or united, I don’t think we’d actually care too much.
The players need a very long look at themselves. Son, Dele, Llorente, seemed more interested in flicks than getting stuck in...particularly in second half. Won't blame Pochettino but Llorente was poor from minute one and should not have been on the pitch in 2nd half.
Yeah I suppose. As DGC said if we get a result Saturday then this will be quickly forgotten. A loss and then at least it’s only Real Madrid on Wednesday.....!
One flick aside he didn’t do an awful lot. Son was great first half but became a complete liability giving the ball away all the time. All teams lose from time to time, we need a reaction. The last few years when we have lost we have bounced back. This little run of games could make or break our season.
Our second defeat of the season and both to London clubs. Well done to the team for their efforts until now. Leaves us unsure for Utd though doesn't it?
