In context, it means that from March 2019, we will be able to have our own separate trade deals with the biggest growing economies Turkey, China, India, Indoneisa, Canada, USA and Australia in the knowledge that the EU cannot stop us
It means that in March 2019 we will be able to start to negotiate trade deals with these countries. (on average they take 28 months but obviously some take much longer). At the moment we already have existing trade deals with these nations via the EU. Obviously we won't have the same negotiating power when we offer access to a market of 56 million as opposed to 508 million but I'm sure we will be able to strike quick deals (by necessity) that will undercut the EU in terms but that will come at a cost that won't benefit anybody but the very rich or the country we're negotiating with as we concede access rights/regulations we'll cut/employment rights we'll diminish.
But they can exert pressure on them and you can be sure these countries will prioritise deals with the eu before the little uk. That might be too much common sense for chesh but you possibly understand how these things work. We can leave what these countries will require in return. But you might want to examine Indias position regarding free movement,

Thats not what they are saying now though. There will be a lets stay in option.... If the choice is between no deal or staying in. We stay in.
