0HAVE YOUR SAY Martin Bain has held preliminary discussions with Simon Grayson about the January transfer window, and says he has a ‘duty’ to try and improve the squad. Bain stopped short of promising a war chest for the under-fire boss, however, as Sunderland continue to adjust to the financial reality of life outside the Premier League. The Black Cats spent just over £1million in the summer window, with fans critical of the decision to
He can talk as much as he wants to Simon Grayson It short who holds the money and we are getting none
A centre forward and a couple of centre backs please Punt Kone, Rodders and N'Dong to raise more £££ to pay off more debt in order to get rid of Short Simples
Can only see loans. Striker and a centre back from the Premier league. If theres money raised from selling players it'd be better spent on changing the manager. The current squad is more than capable of attaining the mighty heights of 21st place in the championship
I was wondering about if that young forward of Man Uniteds who played last night would be available on loan, Mcsomething I think. He's looked decent when I've seen him and fits the bill for what we need. In order of importance we need a forward, a keeper and a CB. Release Mika into the wild and do everything possible to get a few pennies for Rodwell. Keep Kone and Ndong.
Loanees at the moment: Browning Galloway Williams Grabban We're allowed a maximum of 8 at once but can only play 5 I think the rules are Agree mind - can't see much other than loanees and freebies - although our last freebie was a canny signing (McManamanamanamanaman) We would need, I think, at least Browning, Williams and Grabban out of the current crop in most matchday squads which (effectively) leaves 2 spaces for loanees
Unless it cost us money I'd send Galloway back. Williams as well if nothing improves with his "fitness" between now and January
Really do not think Kone or Ndong want to be here - must get rid imo. imo We want players in our team who want to be here so they are playing for the shirt (even though it's a bit dodgy). First real game of the season on Saturday a must win
If the ideal situation occurred that we got good money for Kone and spent it on a new CB then yeah he can sod off but I don't trust that would happen and our squad is already dangerously thin. No problem with Ndong for me, he's a limited player but he's trying and he's starting to find form. He's certainly outplaying Cattermole. Definitely one to keep if we can.
Agree with unlikely to spend much of transfer monies but I think we should have players playing for the shirt. We should be including Beadling at CH alongside JOS and find out if he is the real deal. Ndong is also not happy here undermines the team spirit.I don't rate Catts atm but his heart is here so I'd persevere with him. I agree its paper thin squad and almost complete absence of bruisers capable of imposing themselves to get out this physical league.
Why do you say that about Ndong? All I see is someone who works hard on the pitch and keeps quiet off it. I wouldn't mind seeing Beadling having a go, no idea if he's good enough yet but I doubt he is or he'd have had game time by now.
I think (and it pains me to say it) Cattermole is limiting N'Dong this season so far - he just looks so far off the pace and I HATE having to admit that as one of his biggest fans. I still see the good things he can bring - he played a few lovely passes against QPR but, sadly, he didn't bring much else to the table. I've seen Rodwell play a lovely pass! (Only one but still!) I think it should be McNair and N'Dong in those roles going forward if McNair comes back as the same player he was starting to look like when he got injured Edit - just seen Wandy's post - maybe I'm cattermole's second biggest fan!!
I know just what you mean, I've always been a fan of Catts and I was looking forward to him having a great season but he's getting worse over time. He's lost his aggressive pressing game, I know it got him carded sometimes but it was useful nonetheless. I was thinking before, if he'd never played for us and he was coming up against us in our next match, in all honesty I'd probably be thinking "he's ****, put pressure on him". Not the only one but the fact remains. Agreed about McNair and I think that's what will happen because Grayson knows the situation.
Keep ndong in the side Maybe it’s time for us to leave out cats and try something different Catts has been good for us and I have always liked his style But I feel we need a change to play along side ndong
Does this bullshit by any chance tie in with the release date of part season tickets. ****ing ****ers we know full well it will be sub par loans and sales.
Aye. I was going to say at least we expect it now but it's hard to celebrate having your hopes turn to ash.
Maybe a better pairing Of Catts and Mcnair. I Just recall an article that N'dong wanted to leave. But I agree DN does try on pitch but not Kone - his mind is far away from our team - wasted here. JOS and Beadling for me with a CB option on the bench.
We'll get a very low % from player sales to spend like last season. I expect another 1.7 million to be spent tops.
N’Dong said he was happy but open to leaving. That’s fine. He’s settled but if a good move comes and we want to sell he will go. He was keen on the Lyon move and why wouldn’t you be? He’s striking me as a good lad, sadly his forms fell off.
