I'm not sure on the proposed figures exactly, but 35% of whatever the total pot is will be split based on league position. The remaining 65% will be split equally.

You do realise that under this current TV deal, last season's relegated teams were allocated more than the champions of the previous season, before the deal was implemented. That's how much money the top 6 want to get their greedy hands on. They've got plenty and they want more. Of course, they don't appreciate for a second that without strong teams below them they are champions of a puppet league, just like Spain.

I suspect that the usual suspects will cream off the most....with a few also rans believing that they will benefit in the future if not so much now.

Yes, well let's just keep it as it is now. It's biased enough.

Yes I do realise this. I don't see what relevance it has to the current proposal? The big 6 want it because they are "greedy" or some others would say "more deserving" as they are the reason the TV deal is there in the first place.

Champions of a puppet league where there are 6 contenders? Still seems like a decent achievement. But anyway, my main point before was I can see it being attractive to the board of Everton/West Ham/Saints/Newcastle/Stoke/WBA/Watford/Leicester as it makes them more secure within the league, which guarantees them revenue longer term than making more money in the short term.

Everton and West Ham have supported the scheme....obviously see themselves as most likely to finish in the places that will benefit from the scheme. We are obviously more circumspect.

I can't see it. They have equal shares of a smaller pot which, once the precedent has been set, will be tipped, agreement by agreement, further in favour of the top 6.
Put it this way. If it wasn't better for the top 6 and worse for everyone else they wouldn't be pursuing it.

The more I've read about this the less I'm bothered by it. No one ever moans about domestic rights being performance related.

Those beyond the top 6 voting against their own interests but are so blinded in their pursuit of the almighty pound that they fail to see that. Though there may be increases in the amount clubs in 7-10 or whatever may see an increase in income but proportionally the increase will be less than the clubs 1-6 and that will only increase as time goes by, meaning that any footballing advantages from having an increased income will soon be lost and they'll be even less likely to challenge for Europe or whatever the goal is of the Premier League also-ran.

On the other hand, as most owners are basically in football to leach as much money as they can from their clubs, I guess it would be good for them, at least discounting the problems of competitiveness which I've already mentioned.

Arguably, they shouldn't be either. But the horse has bolted on that one, at least with international rights, the horse is still in the stable.

It's undoubtedly better for the top 6, it's just whether it is better for that "mini league" just below them which will swing it one way or the other. On the surface of it you could see why it is better for these clubs. As long as the rules on 14 teams needing to be in favour of a rule change is there then I don't see how it sets any precedent. The teams that get screwed by this are the promoted clubs and any of the "bottom 6" (although they are hard to define as it is such a lottery below the top 6, and changes every season).

    Brewster makes it 2-1 :)

Our top goal scorer was recalled by his club after the group stage, step up Brewster....has now scored 5 goals.

What is going on. 5 minutes to go and England are 3-1 up. The team are keeping possession!! I'm confused, I was expecting them to hoof into the box so that Brazil could attack again!!

England into final after beating Brazil 3-1. Will meet Spain or Mali U17s.

The under age groups are having a fantastic year.

Disappointing that we aren't represented as we had several players in the last U21 team...though Redmond and JWP are now too old. Brewster who plays for Liverpool looks a real star....good with both feet and quick reactions. Brazil had skilled players and made a couple of pretty good chances, but England looked a good team throughout....good defensively and well drilled. We only lost to Spain in the Euros right at the end. Brazil and England were favourites for this, so we are in with a good chance.
