Failing that, there’s always North London. <ok>

I think going by the previous statements, it’s a very large part of you (which is understandable btw).

Yeah point taken, as I suspected really.

Don't know what to do, hate getting the coach but unlikely to be able to drink so don't want to waste loads of money on trains.

Train from Brighton/Soton return is £15. It’s not so bad. Mind you, it’s a Sunday so.....

The money you save by not drinking, you could spend on the train.

Bit of info....new to me but possibly not to everyone else on the planet. If 3-9 of you travel together (and return together), you can save 30% on train fares under the groupsave scheme.

Didn't realise it was that cheap to be honest. Coupled with free train fare to the ground that's cheaper than fuel/parking anyway!

Knowing me if I feel any better I'll get caught up in the fun of an away day and end up having a couple <laugh>

    @Clem Fandango

Was it you who wanted to meet in Brighton before the match?

Yes I'm up for a couple of pints in Brighton before, you in?
I'm in the East Upper by the way (I think you asked?).

And yeah it was me who asked, think the east is away to our right? Don't know how you can do that mate.

Park near Selhurst Park & ask for directions! Starting on Saturday then would probably be more advisable.

    No.

Drive to Portsmouth in your Saints shirt and scarf, park your car in the City Centre (ensuring your Saints Sticker is visible). Ask for directions to the train station and very loudly say "As I am going to watch a Premier League match between two great south coast rivals". Get a train to Crystal Palace and then ask the way to Brighton "to see a great game of Premier League football between two teams that will be there next year"

    Perfectly safe I reckon.

Edit: Don't forget to mention that you think Seagulls are better birds than Eagles.

Why do Brighton and palace hate each other so much?

Sorry that wasn't helpful... I don't know the details but I believe it's one of those rivalries that all started with one game, want to say a play off match but not sure on the details tbh.

Mullery and Venables were part of the cause, as they apparently had a bit of "history" from their Spuds days. They were then both managers at the clubs in the 70s when they played each other in the league but also the cup, which went to two replays. Combination of the rivalry between the managers and the needle over the 5 games in one season.

To be fair, can you imagine even playing a team 4 times in a season?

That may cause bit of issue? And they bought our 'best' players over a few years? And then not conceding a goal? And then getting a last minute goal to get you to a Wembley cup final?

    Nah me neither ;)

    Oh well ...any excuse:

Virgil not been picked for the Netherlands squad....mumblings he may be injured. Probably just supposition on top of conjecture.
