Lonegran in goal and their first doesn't happen, could have been different then.

not an excuse I would have loved to have progressed to the next round but at the cost of having a team fit for Friday ? don't think so

TC made the right calls and we played well so not unhappy

Eccers, I can appreciate people have different attitudes towards cup games, but it's too early in season to be cautious and say we have an important game on Friday.

Footballs not about 0 and 1's, it's about making statements, and having a "I don't care attitude to league and FA cup games" certainly makes a statement, it's ruining British football, and making excuses like we're concentrating on league is absolutely bullshite this early in season. We have no guarantees at this moment in time that we'll end up in top 2 or top 6.

Monk had the same attitudes, and it come back to haunt him at the expense of Leeds United, and he didn't give a damn any way.

When you're playing good football and winning, even after our comeback win against BC, you keep the momentum going, you keep turning the pedals and keep the foot on accelerator, you keep the players on their toes and enthused and committed. I don't have nor share TC's attitude, or any coach who has TC's attitude in cup games.

We'll go through the same scenario in FA cup too.

If we don't get promotion, we'll end up with another coach who has the same attitude in cup games, and the circle just keeps on turning, untill someone comes in with a Don Revie attitude, that's what this club is lacking.......:emoticon-0148-yes:

No issue at all with what you've said. The cups are important but the league pays the bills. The big deal for me is, including tuesday night, 3 sleeps to the next game.

How did we do in the league in 1973/74 under Revie and how did we do in the league cup that year?

On 8 October Norman Hunter made his 600th first team appearance in the League Cup at Ipswich. Revie paid tribute to one of his favourite sons, saying: "I do not think he has been given anything like sufficient credit for the ability he possesses and his great dedication and will to win. No manager could wish to have a better player on his books… I think he has missed only about 13 or 14 matches because of injury in the 11 years he has been playing."

A weakened team, shorn of Jordan, McQueen, Lorimer, Clarke, Giles and Eddie Gray,

lost 2-0, but Revie shed few tears, his aim focused exclusively on the League.

Seems Revie would have done exactly what Christiansen did and if we get the same result he would have approved

A supporter who doesn’t want to pay to watch disrespects the players, the team, the club and the fans - no? That type of attitude has a bad habit of creeping into players.

Well dbc, looks like you did a lot of research to try and disprove my point. You picked one game, that I don't believe cos Revies attitude was he wanted to win everything.

Must mean there's a lot of supporters who fit into your disrespectful category Marcus, like people on dole, invalids, supporters overseas, supporters who can't get to games for their own various and valid reasons.......yes? you really don't think before putting your foot in your gob, do you.

Your accusation and claims are aimed at all the above, and more.

Try to put flames out on your way down.

Really wasn’t a lot of research just a quick google as believed that Revie (who I equally love) from what I knew was a pragmatist over an idealist. So as much as I agree he wanted to win every game, I couldn’t believe he wouldn’t sacrifice the battle to win the war

No mate, knowing you are on the dole, an invalid, an overseas supporter, supporter who can’t get to a game for your own various and valid reasons (wtf) is fine, I can enjoy that in its own right.

Only dawned on me tonight how hilarious your stand on foreigners in the Brexit “debates” is when I think how only players with a name ending in i is acceptable. Being a penis is one thing, feeling the need to prove it every time you type more guff is superb :emoticon-0148-yes:
