Good luck to him. Hope he manages to get back for another season or two. Always liked the way he could have signed on for us but took the chance and went as he wasn't guaranteed to be a starter.
Will always remember his goal for us in the FA cup semi-final against Sheffield United, good luck Matty, keep at it!
Always liked Fryatt and I'm not surprised he's one of those players who'll keep playing as long as he can. A genuine lad I reckon.
Fryatt was ace, one of the best finishers we've ever had. I will always believe that if he had not got injured before the 12/13 season, we would've been fighting Cardiff for the title and Fryatt would've got at the very least 18 goals. Would've loved to resign him this summer, but maybe Frazier is the better shout in hindsight.
He certainly deserves a break, hope things turn out OK for him and he gets a couple more years playing.
Always seemed to look like he didn't know what he was doing when dribbling the ball but it just stuck to him and then he'd turn a defender and score a goal. Good player and was disappointed when he left but fair play for wanting to play more games
Enjoyed that description. He must have been more skillful than he looked or he wouldn't have wriggled free so often.
That's about as Fryatt a goal as you can get. Bonus points for an extremely Chesterish interception in there too.
We must have played against teams with Wes Morgan in their line-up more than half-a-dozen times in the past decade or so, and not once did I come away thinking he'd have got into our team, let alone improve it. Yet he's captained a Premier League winning side. I loved that Fryatt goal. The ball took an eternity to decide which side of the post it was going to go, but when it did the scenes were terrific. We lost a lot that summer after the FA Cup final when we let the likes of Fryatt, Boyd, Koren and a handful of others leave or relegated them to near-permanent reserve status. We might have brought in better 'quality' but a lot of the heart went from the side.
Again I find myself agreeing with every word of your post. I remember we used to argue with AKCJ and other Leicester fans on here about Morgan when they said he was better than Chester since he looked so average whenever they (or previously Forest) played us. But as you say, he must have something about him to go as far as he has with Leicester.
My enduring image of him is the Southend game in the FA cup. We were struggling to break down their defence. He seemed to have no confidence in either Graham or Sagbo so he literally took the ball off Graham's foot.
