It depends. If they were supporting a club for glory hunting then i'd probably send them to the local *****phile. If they wanted to support someone like Wolves or West Brom, just your average team, then i'd be happy enough with it, although i'd definitely try my hardest to change their minds by making them buy their own shirts and stuff, or not letting them watch their team play :)

If they dont end up supporting Newcastle I would question if they were your kid (maybe the missus needs to be questioned about how friendly she was with the rag and bone man).

I moved down to Yarm 10 years ago and my youngest is 8 tommorrow so goes to school in a predominantly smoggy environment and my other half and her family are all Boro supporters (I know going out with a boro lass and all that but she is lovely and I look at it as taking one for the team and introducing more of the geordie gene pool down here) so he has grown up with 95% boro influence.

To his credit (and mine) today he was decked out in his fav top (the purple away one from a couple of seasons back) (plus he had a birthday party with all the kids from his class - 99% boro supporters)and the first thing he told his boro uncle was that we beat 'that lot down the road' 'hows the championship'

Thats ma boy.............black and white blood will always shine through!

I've supported Newcastle since the day I was born (seriously, I had one of them nufc baby suits).
I had a stage when I was 9/10 where I was in a football club thing at school and I went through a spell of supporting Chelsea. It was mainly because I liked the kit (Which I wore at the football club thingymajiggy) but still supported Newcastle as well.

Once I got to the stage of actually developing proper football knowledge (around 11) I grew out of them, I hate them now. <laugh>
Still have the old strip lying around somewhere and **** knows how I've kept it for all these years!

Same here - supported Chelsea around 10 years old when they turned good with Mourinho, and then I went back to supporting us again. After I gained any knowledge of football i realised I had to chose NUFC

You usually find it's in the blood, you get brought up among Toon supporting people and it's natural.

my dad has been going every season since the 50's and got his first season ticket when the east stand opened at the start of the 70's. newcastle was drummed into me from an early age and i started going with my mates in '79 when i was 11. the thought of supporting anyone but newcastle would be unthinkable. i used to get stick off the old man for hating the mackems. they're just normal people like us son he'd say. then he got a part time job when he retired delivering around the wearside/durham area and got loads of stick for being a geordie. he's seen the light and hates the b******s himself now.

With you there fella. I had a black and white pram and a red and white potty. But still grew up thinking the unwashed weren't that bad....until I worrked at Nissan for 3 years.

Luckily I stasted there in 92 so good times for NUFC but jesus some seriously bitter people from 'that place'.

Lol NYEL there's a blast from the past. I was a Nissan Line Feeder (Material Handling)and we used to have some excellent sport with the NYEL lads. We were bodyshop and looking back some of the things we got up to were shocking.
