Well never did get player going so thanks everyone who gave reports on progress - if progress is the right word

But I'm hopeful we will be OK if Sean doesn't lose his sense of humour. Time for clear thinking and no panic me thinks. And those goals will come <cool>

Sounded like 2 sides who had chances but didn't know how to put the ball away.

    Both teams could have penalties

Noticed Whichelow and Walker came on quite late...might have thought it would be worth throwing them on earlier.

Oh dear. We need a striker NOW. Much though I admire Deeney's work rate, he's really not the answer.

    Jon Marks on twitter:

#watfordfc striker search continues. Sean Dyche confirms he spoke to two managers this morning & another yesterday.

Sean Dyche 'incredibly surprised' 2nd penalty shout for challenge on Troy Deeney in 2nd half wasn't given. #watfordfc

TBF He wasn't complaing about the ref like Malky would be!

Seemed quite happy to accept refs make mistakes if a little frustrated.

Very, very poor from both teams. Cannot see where a goal is coming from. Jenkins was poor and Forsythe was well off the pace. I've said it before, our centre midfield is almost non existent. They don't break down attacks and they don't set up attacks. What are they there for? Very worried!!!

Time to let the murray , whichelow etc into the fray jenkins and eustace together rarely works ! Worried about the prince , when will he be fit ! just seen on the stats we had twice as many attempts on goal <doh> seriously missing DC and DG!
Thing is what is SD and Baz etc going to do about it , coz heads will drop and confidence will dissipate soon!

Three performances worth shouting about, two points.

As agitated as I've been getting about the situation, I do not blame Bassini or Dyche for taking this long to get a striker in. I think being thin on the ground should improve our clout in the loan market, and no-one could have predicted that the black hole would manifest itself this badly this quickly. But temporary or permanent, that striker must come in before the end of the transfer window.

The worst football match I have seen in the championship for a long time both sides played liuke they were in league 2, watford ciould not defend at times and looked so poor going forwards, although I think from every game you need to take positives, Troy Deeney was really counted today, the only player who won the ball in the air consistantly for watford and should have had one (definate) and one possible (was hard to see at our end) penalties, the only player on the pitch for me that gave 110%. Scott Loach had a good game, he looked confident. At times Yeates showed his value but needs to pass more and Wichelow really livened watford up. With another striker and a centre mid that a good team o and where was Prince today???

Been out all day and just seen the results. Shame it wasn't a win, but at least we got a point, would have been good to get a goal but at least we didn't let any in. Something to be grateful about after West Ham.

And BLIMEY... Peterborough! Can we have some of their goal scorers please?!

thing is Betty its not the result that is concerning, it was the performance, Coventry looked like a league 2 side, and we didt look that much better

i think that's harsh gb...we were passing well, we struggled with possession in the second half but not in the first. We just haven't been able to find the net...even Tiny was more on his game today.

I think this season the results are going to be more important than the performance, so for me 1 point is much better than coming away with nothing. Obviously 3 points would be an awful lot better and it is concerning that we aren't scoring goals at the moment, but it is encouraging that we didn't concede any either (whether that be through good defending/goalkeeping or the other sides weak strike force, it doesn't really matter).

I'm of the positive mindset you see. It's only the beginning of the season! I reckon we'll do the opposite of most seasons by starting poorly and going up the table instead of starting well and slipping down it! :) Got to keep your hopes up being a Watford fan!!!
