Phil McNulty blogg on the BBC

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2011/08/bank_squeezes_blue_half_of_mer.html

None of it adds up for me. They have a fair sized ground, OK they struggle to fill it these days, but you cannot tell me that they cannot find a single buyer. If Blackburn and QPR can be sold quickly, you can't tell me that no-one wants to buy a fully fledged, famous prem team?

I don't know, but it is like G&H, I think Kenwright and his dodgy board want too much personal money. They have done a pretty poor job over the last few years, and I think they feel they need to be rewarded. This might also come down to the bank forcing a change through, just like ourselves.

I can see the logic in this, why would any successful business person want to reward shocking business practices?

I personally want Everton to be successful, they have one of the best managers out there, and it will help the rivalry, if the bitter blueshite can get over themselves and stop being so bitter and just get on with supporting their own club rather than hating ours.

You've got to ask the question... Where has the money gone? They get T.V money, gate money and everything else... Where does it all go?

Neither do I but putting one over on Everton still rates just below beating Manure. You do talk b******s.As much as I want us to always beat them I still want the derbies each season.

I like it when they're suffering though eh <ok> Yeah I'd miss the derbies and don't want them to go down really but if they do I won't shed any tears (and they'd bounce back up anyway) plus I'd get proper mileage out of it with the bitters i work with :D

Oh yeah of course, don't want them winning anything and if they were fighting relegation every season then that would be great,,but still want them in the premiership. To be fair they have some very good players in the squad and an excellent manager who works wonders with no money. If they ever got proper investment then they could be a real threat with squad depth.

No we dont want them to go and go under. I want Nottingham Forest back as I wasn't around in them days and know that is another rivalry that we have not played in awhile.

Also we don't want Manchester the home of football, we want Liverpool to be, bring back those glorious 80's going at it toe to toe with Everton.

well i was around 'in those days' and the matches in the 80's were just fantastic.Fortunately.when it really mattered we came out on top.
The rivalry with Notts Forest was also good but it only really lasted 2/3 seasons but they had the edge on us a few times and, yeah,it would be good to have them back but it won;t happen while they have the 'wally with the brolly' in charge.

We often got spat on by blues so much when we were in the Park End though so I have no reason to cry if those blues are suffering. Used to come out from away games at Goodison covered in more spittal than any other game :D

They are the best fans in the world...at producing ridiculous amounts of gozz...let them suffer a bit i reckon <ok>

unfortunately yes..but I have had the privilage of being around to watch the best Liverpool teams ever. They really were something else and watching them win the European cup for the first time was something that will always live with me.If you are young then you can only imagine what it was like but they dominated for 2 decades and played some incredible football, just a pity sky wasn't around to see them all live (and in HD).

I reckon they can't sell the club cos no one wants it. I don't think it's too complex, no one likes them enough to shell out the money, maybe we should all chip in £50 ?

If it makes anyone else happy...QPR were singing Liverpool Liverpool at the blues fans today when it was 1-0 :D

Now surely you can't say that doesn't give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside <whistle>

Just let them go down...it'll be like putting your pet hamster out of its misery...trust me on this one lads <ok>

I'll give you £6.50 but never £50 notes each <ok> that'd be a few hundred quid and that's pre-recession values
