Nope, he didn't step up, He was in line with his partner Matip, and knew Kane was a good yard beyond him, so he assumed he was therefore offside when the ball went over, but Gomez had dropped off and played Kane on, that's why Lovren's first action when the ball went through was to glare at the lino, as he couldn't believe he hadn't flagged.

The second was 100% down to him though.

You could have the best CB in the World playing in that left CB berth, but with Moreno leaving him completely exposed every few minutes he'd still struggle.

Ok I get that Gomez is playing him onside what I mean is that there's no need for it, Lovren should just mark him. That might be down to Klopp but you have to manage yourself in the game and in that situation I just don't see the need to step up and even try an offside trap.

I don't agree, as he was just holding a line with his CB partner, if he drops back he plays Kane on, why would you do that?

He should have been closer to him though, but again where was Moreno? as Kane was stood in the LB berth.

Yeah you play him onside and track his run, it wasn't a clear situation where you can check along the line and let him run offside. There was doubt and panic straight away you could see the uncertainty in Lovren. If in doubt track the run.

you could see the uncertainty in Lovren.

And that shouldn’t be there. He should be confident where his defensive partners are.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan of Lovren, I think he’s bang average. But defending as a unit is a collective responsibility. Klopp has to take the blame that the defensive Organisation isn’t there.

I agree, like most have said he's had time to sort it and when VVD didn't happen there should have been another option we needed that defender in. We then go and waste money on the chunky Gooner instead of waiting and keeping the money for some quality as we have cover in that position.

First goal was as much the fault of Gomez and Mingey. Gomez played Kane onside, and Mingey shouldn’t have made that hare brained rush out.

No mate, Gomez suddenly realised that Lovren was trying the offside trap from a throw in and suddenly had to change his line. His set up was fine before Lovren tried the stuff my 8 year old get's taught not to do every weekend. Gomez was then stuck trying to rectify Lovren.

Mignolet was at fault but that goes without saying tbh.

I don't understand why we didn't go in for Koulibaly (clearly could have got him for 40-50mil).

Eggs in one broken basket.

4 of the back 5 are Brendan Rodgers players. Klopp has not addressed the defence. I don't think he cares about defending.

Spurs looking savvy and smart

Interesting to see that Poch changed his tactics against us for the first time, that was savvy and smart. Quality manager.

He come back on his sock account that was the Saint account, pretty sure he made some reference to Hillsborough or some other disaster and I had him banned.

So yeh, no thanks.

That's not his sock account though. @Tobes was the independent adjudicator on that.

... although it was rather uncanny how "Saints" miraculously reappeared, after a noticeable and sustained absence, to vote with Quentin on certain polls recently <whistle> ... I wonder if that had anything to do with @brb making a hilarious intervention in HIAG's ill conceived 'Pded' poll? <laugh>

I think you're making up facts to fit your motives, mate.
