Oh but you did, you got called out about it and warned by our mods, but if you want to play the innocent knock yourself out horsey.
Talk about being paranoid. I'm not even going to go down that road. Not sure why you would want to either.
I wasn't talking to you, I was describing you to a fellow red on our board, if you want to talk about that particular subject there's a thread made especially for it.
The only thing I'd add to that is that,in an otherwise fair dissection of our summer dealings, Gary Neville again raised the issue about why did we keep Coutinho when we could have bought X amount of defenders and goalkeepers instead. Well, apart from the fact that the Barca money was on the never-never and add-ons, this ignores the fact that we had the Keita money and the VVD money to spend on defenders - we had the money and didn't use it. In fact, the last-minute splash that we did do was for midfielder who would have been worth the price three years ago, but not now, and not now that we don't need him.
Your keepers aren't good enough, Klopp realised this and bought Karius but he's mince, but he didn't want to admit the mistake, so he's kept him as No.2 to Mignolet, who's also mince. Your best keeper is Klopps 3rd choice.
You want to be more specific? I think we have a manager who is rather reluctant to take some tough decisions or be viewed as a SOB...
Maybe. I'm not sure about that. He has history of getting rid in Germany. I think he has genuinely backed lovren but mingolet/karius situation is odd. Karius is proven to be ****e, so you go back to the guy you don't fancy... then keep both hummmmmmm....
Quote from Klopp trying to back track on his comments singling out Lovren for criticism. ‘Actually I really don’t want to blame players and Dejan was no worse, to be honest, than Joel. ‘We have to prove we are better defenders than we are today. The only way to fix it is to stay strong. The first goal would not happen if I am on the pitch, in my trainers.’ He seems to not understand they have had long enough to prove(or not in their case)they are decent defenders, and his "trainers" comment would be funny if it wasn't true.
My ratings: Migs; 4 Has previously gotten away with his poor handling by being a good shot-stopper - couldn't even do that yesterday. Gomez: 5 Mediocre at right-back, but a tad better at CB. Moreno: 4 Wasn't particulary bad defensively (apart from walkabouts) but infuriates that his speed gets him into great crossing positions, only to welly it knee-high against the nearest defender, or hoof it over everyone in the box. Matip: 4 Just nowhere near the player of last season. Lovren: 2 Just cruel to keep on playing him. Can: 4 Had one 15 minute spell after we scored when he looked the part, but spent most of the game, as usual, doing nothing. Henderson: 4 No quality at all Milner: 5 Bookends well with Hendo to form the dullest CM duo in the league Ford: 7 Like having a Ferrari and using it to tow a caravan. Must be counting the days till next June, if not january. Salah: 6 A rare threat in the first half, but not so much in the second. Firmino: 4 At his best he's Dirk Kuyt without the goals: yesterday he was David N'Gog without the goals. Subs: Ox 5 Mediocre and ineffective. His best game for us so far. Studge: 4 Took up the baton where Bobby had left off and maintained the standard. Team: 4.5 Could have had three goals yesterday - then again, Spurs could have had eight. Jurgen: 4 Unravelling. I never thought we had a hope of the league after the summer dealings, but I was hopeful we'd still be in the mix up till Christmas: well we're already out of title-hunt, and we'll be out of the chase for Top Four by Christmas. Yeah, it's only three points to Chelsea, but that'll be at least six after we play them, and we know it. So either Jurgen, after two years, is a prisoner of club policy and is not saying anything, or he's part of the problem. No point doing anything until the end of the season (who do you think could step in and do a better job with that defence?), but if we don't make Top Four and don't win a trophy (i.e. the FA Cup, as there's no ****ing way we'll win the league or the CL) he's gone. But never mind - we might still even drop out of the CL into the Europa and win that. Hmm.
Fair enough summary there donga.<ok Imagine the stick Klopp will get it Rafa finishes higher than him in may.
I'm older than that and three stone heavier than when I played full back in my 20's. I could have still stopped the first, and I could still out-sprint Milner for the 2nd.
the first was pathetic, the second was absolute panic and amateur hour... the third was shameful form keeper. I mean... spurs must have thought all their Christmases had come at once cos realistically had they actually had to try they might have had to actually score a goal by creating.
not sure you can lay all the blame for the 3rd on Migs surely Matip with yet another weak assed header just dropping outside the box with none of our players ,also yet again , reacting quickly enough resulting in a lost 2nd ball & boom goal.
admittedly my memories are blurred due to excess alcohol but wasn't that number 4. the one which pitched me over the edge was the 3rd as that was collectively a total & utter shambles made worse by the fact we were on top at the time. Should also point out we have all in effect seen that goal before.
