Welcome to another TLL goals galore match thread. Saints travel to Brighton for the first top flight meeting between the sides since 82/83. That was a 0-0 at the Dell though Saints did win 1-0 in the away fixture that season which saw Brighton relegated to the second tier after a 4 year stay.

This is also our first visit to the Amex, well I don't think it is but I can't remember the previous one for some reason. Promises to be a cracking atmosphere and Saints will be backed by over 3000 away supporters in a game that had a bit of spice in league one and championship years.

Last time out: Saints won 1-0 against a typical Pulis performance after Boufal went all Maradona on us and scored what will surely be a contender for goal of the season while Brighton had an impressive 3-0 away win at an admittedly poor West Ham side.

Officials: Someone **** - Sure Don will post them when available.

Decisions for MP to make team wise, surely he can't leave Boufal out again?

If we turn up and go at them from the off I believe we should simply have too much for them, and I don't fear any of their forwards too much tbh. 2-0 away win <ok>

    Up the ****ing Saints <cheers>

Looking forward to this one. I actually don't expect us to go at them from the off. I expect the opposite. It's a big game for them, in trying to usurp as as the top south coast side. They are newly promoted and will probably come at us with lots of energy. That may just suit us and we can hit them on the break now we've started passing forward to Gabbi.... and of course with Sofiane breaking. Hopefully.

Fair point, particularly the first ten minutes will be like that I imagine.

Mrs Game and I are going.

There's been at least one other Saints' game at the Amex TLL, because I had the mis-fortune to go to that one as well. We lost 3-0, had a legitamate goal not given with the score 0-0 and had Rickie sent off later in the game. Apart from that it was great.
It's funny how yesterday's result has changed my attitude to this one. Before the game I was doubting the wisdom of buying tickets for Brighton but now I can't wait. Fickle fan or what?

Has to be the worst away game I've been to, that one.

Things got so bad, we played a large portion of the second half with Forte up front alone, following Rickie's red. Think it was pretty much his only Championship appearance for us.

Interesting game this one. I don't think Boufal starts and I think he gets the last 15/20 (depending on score). Bring him on to run at tired legs and create something or draw fouls from tiring defenders. Think we line up the same as Saturday tbh, maybe Redmond in for Long and go back to a 4-3-3 with Lemina and Romeu holding.

Am actually looking forward to this one. Is it televised?

    Forster
    Cedric hoedt yoshi bert
    Romeu lemina
    Davis boufal tadic
    Gabbiadini

Bench: McCarthy VVD McQueen Austin Bertrand Long

Boufal to start please. Redmond and long as impact against tired legs. Jane to come on when we are chasing an ironic goal.

Looking forward to this one. Brighton fans certainly up for it and a large portion of them on North Stand Chat are confident of a routine win for them.

One comment I found particularly funny was "it's nice watching Southampton vs West Brom knowing we significantly better than both".

Fair enough they've just won 3-0 at West Ham but come on, who hasn't won 3-0 at West Ham these days!

Let's bring them down a notch, 2-0 Saints win. Both Boufal tap-ins (runs from own goalline).

    It won't happen, but:

    Yoshida Virgil Hoedt
    Cedric Romeu Lemina Bertrand
    Boufal Gabbiadini Tadic

    looks good to me.

Same here more or less. Can't see it though.

Boufal should start of course but probably won't.

We have won all our games we have scored 1st in this season, and I would expect the same if we did against Brighton.

An early goal would be nice please.
