Exactly. Our attack is still very good and they continued to create decent chances. But what can they do the rest of the team let’s them down week in week out.
That is why a good defence should always be a priority. Why do you think Pep spent so much on defenders? The attack cannot always bail out the defence. Not all teams are Maribor. We need a complete restructuring of the defence including the GK.
I was hoping Klopp wouldnt stand for ****ness but he backs his players heavily in public (which is fair enough obvs) but was hoping it would be different behind closed doors Im not sure it is. Pep got rid of joe hart straight away and brought in Bravo. Then realised Bravo was **** and then brought in Ederson. Klopp needs to be ruthless.
Yep, I expected him to be far more ruthless. Lovren and Migs just have to be dropped. And they have to be sold. Simple. Can needs a slap and told to concentrate until he leaves. And he needs to be number 6 with Hendo as 8.
Not A lot good to pick out of that, Spurs were the much better team, they are a good defensive unit and build from that foundation. It's a lesson to learn for us. Get Matip a good partner and a defensive midfielder and we'll be a whole different team IMO. At this moment though we have to work with what we have and if Gomez doesn't replace Lovren from the next match then Klopp is barking.
If the players keep making elementary mistakes, including the GK then we are going to have these stats like the most goals connceded away by any team will continue. These players are simply not good enough and are not fit to wear the shirt. Very rarely have I thought that but I am convinced that we simply have to get rid.
We have a negative goal difference. We had the luck of scoring big last season of which we are not. We are struggling big time and this is where klopp needs to show some balls and make some bold calls. Until Lallana and Mane are back we need to drop a few players and stick with some benchwarmers. Gomez needs to learn hos trade at CB as he can do no worse than Lovern
Agreed. Shame about the third going in bang on half time, we deserved everything we got but would have been a totally different game if we went in at 2-1
so now we make do , until Jan at least , with Matip & Gomez we really need to look at our defensive set up as much , if not more .than the individuals.
am sick of it tbh. Why is Klopp even surprised at Lovren? Anybody with 2 eyes in their head could see he's a bottler and a poor defender too. Not a great mix. We approached Playing Spurs in the same way as we approached Maribor and are then surprised that it all goes horribly wrong?? Klopp is the problem. First and foremost.
yep whilst knowing they would score again at 2-1 felt in the game but you could just see the team give in when the 3rd went in just on HT.
To be fair, we have blown them away a few times in recent years by playing like that, so not too annoyed at how we approached it.
