Could have been a nice 0-1 if the defence hadn't thrown the ball into our own net 4 times

Drop Lovren and Mignolet, give Gomez and Matip a run at CB

If you're going to erase mistakes, it'd be 0-0

This is exactly what can be inferred.

Our attack can score we all know that. It is all about the GK and the defending.

The Spurs GK saved 6 of the 7 shots we fired. Mignolet saved only 2 but let in 4 of the shots they fired. Of course it is not all about Mignolet. It is also about our defence.

But GK errors have cost us through out the last few seasons. Klopp identified that Mignolet was not good enough. He brought a new one who was also found wanting. So Mignolet got back to no 1 but surely he is still not good enough?

    The 15 away goals conceded...

    3 - Watford
    5 - Man City
    2 - Leicester
    1 - Newcastle
    4 - Spurs

    ...no clean sheet!

Mignolet was poor today, together with every other ****er, but he has been solid and mistakes few and far between for a long time.
Obviously certain individuals are going to get stick but we were collectively poor today and beaten by a very good Spurs side. I think
they could actually give Citeh a run for their money.

Surely it should have dawned on Klopp that our defence and our GK were a major weakness. No secret there. It was there when Rodgers was in. He tried to replace Mignolet but let him back in. He should have got rid of the defenders. Ridiculous surely to say no one was better than what we've got. Except VVD. That statement will come back to haunt him. However good our attack is (and I agree it is not as good as we wish to make out against a good GK and good defenders) our defence will let the team down. Without the mistake we could have had a result, possibly not the 0-1 wished by astro but at least not the drubbing we received.

Such a shame the game was over in the first 10 mins thanks to the clowns at the back.

BUT - it’s not their fault. It’s not their fault they are simply not good enough for this club. It’s on Klopp. He’s had more than enough time to address the fundamental issues at GK, DEF and MID.

My issue with Klopp is that he hasnt been ruthless enough. Lovren and Migs needed binning a long time ago. Hendo isn’t a number 6.

Can’s head is simply gone and he doesn’t even care now because he’s off to Juve. And I’m not surprised when he’s the first one to be shifted around - god knows why Klopp played him RB when you have Gomez, Milner, TAA and Ox who can play there.

I actually feel sorry for Lovren now because he gets so much stick when there isn’t anything more he can do. He is simply a poor defender, and Matip is a back up at best. Moreno has raised his game to be fair.

We badly need a DOF because klopps decisions have to be challenged. Holding out for VVD was suicidal, getting rid of Sakho out of spite was silly, not investing in midfield sooner is criminal. We need a DOF to come in and say, what positions do you need strengthening in, what is the profile of player we need that suits our style, here is a list of said players, rank the players you want now, and I’ll go and get the best one I can in ASAP.

I expected Klopp to be more ruthless but his indecision has let him down this season. And we’re paying the price now.

I think City will win the league with Spurs 2nd. 3rd & 4th will be between Chelsea, Utd , Arsenal and us. We will be the outsiders with Arsenal who also can't defend

I hope this is now the end of the road for Mignolet and Lovren. And that Klopp persists with Karius/Ward and Gomez at centre back.

They’re young players who will probably make the same mistakes but they have the potential to learn from them and develop.

It’s true - Matip isn’t a great defender. He’s just simply better than Lovren and Skrtel etc. He’s a back up at best.

Problem is the game is lost before they even get a chance to get going. Heads go down so often.
