Last week, I made comment about how a replacement of manager might help our team, being that Ollie just wasn't getting the results we need to show any hint of improvement over the last season or so. There was much comment on here to imply support for Ollie was much greater than l could have imagine after so many lacklustre performances this season.

I think having to come from behind, to draw with a team coming dead last in the competition, tells us where we really are.

We all are entitled to our opinions .................. you can see mine as plain as day.

Who would you want?

'Hollow" is quite popular with fans because of the past and his comical sayings. However we need to remember that this is our club and we should always want the 'best'. He probably is a League One manager at 'best'. I cannot complain about commitment and fight back of the team and he does actually care about the club. Saying all that, it is not a popularity contest and commitment will only get you so far. Hollow needs to start winning more games and stop playing Mackie. I will be surprised if we are not in the bottom 5 at Christmas, still....We got our Rangers back! <doh> Shame it's not the Rangers I remember though. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Not sure to be honest, WW but all l know is, Ollie isn't getting the group as a whole, progressing forward.
We can't score goals and we can't hold them out.
We can't expect to move up the table until we can address these weekly issues.
We seem to be getting worse each season.
Something must give.

I think he deserves the next three months at least. We haven't been getting the rub of the green this season and he at least has us playing with some sort of identity. I didn't honestly expect more than this and that was before the defence got wiped out.

Serious question: on the basis that we’re not shipping that many goals (yet) and I’m not hearing that we’ve been played off the park by any team (yet), is there really that much wrong with this team other than the absence of a decent goal scorer and the return of a few injured first-teamers?

When I look at the table there’s teams well above us that have also lost 4 games, but they’ve won where we’ve drawn.

I don’t feel the doom & gloom of others and remain optimistic about the fortunes of our club. We’re building something, so my expectations for this season are modest, but next season would want to see some kicking on.
Hear hear.

Palace beat Chelsea last week. Should they sack John Conteh for that?

Very true. Just look at the match stats.

We create the opportunities and chances which is great. But we are simply are not efficient in putting them away.

Perhaps we lack the individualism and skill. But it was a great finish by Sylla today - however, we need more of such moments.

TBH apart from Syllla none our players look like scoring, except possibly Wheeler in the few minutes he had. But yesterday we didnt create as many as we should have when we were controlling the game which we did all but the 1st half after they scored. Too many crosses were Keeper food or didn't reach our strikers, players worked their way into shooting positions but tried a difficult pass instead, Pavel and Freeman the main culprits here look short of confidence too shoot, tho both played well. Given a couple more chances I think Sylla would have scored again, he didn't get many. Again we looked more dangerous when Smith came on for Mackie, he didn't do much but he draws in defenders giving more room to others, like when Sylla had a shot well saved just before he scored. I'd like to see Smith and Sylla given more time together, our other busy buzzing midfielders should provide the speed and chances these two together may manage more than 1 a game from.

I'm not really looking at any other team but ours.
Ollie has been in charge now for some time.
So far, we are not progressing, I think we are actually losing face of where we were when he was put in charge.
He might have the passion but l've never questioned that, I've only questioned his performances as our manager and to where we are now.
We just had to scrap out a draw with the team coming last.
Why, over the last 12 months, we seem to play every out of form team ............. into form?
Yes, there is always give and take but with us, its all take.
Anyway, just my two bobs worth.

I love Mackie but surely someone else deserves a chance. Seems a complete waste of a shirt right now with the other options available.

It seems that Ollie likes playing Mackie because he shows the same passion as Ollie, which is fair enough.
Problem is ................ neither of them are good enough at what they are supposed to do in this comp.

Whereas last season we lost to them - there is the hint of progress you were asking for.

You remember those toys you used to wind up and they'd go in all different directions crashing into the skirting board until they ran out of juice? Well that's what it's like watching Mackie. Trouble is when managers have their favourites they rarely give way so we'll have to rely on Mackie geting injured to change the script...
