Might be a good position for him, don't think he's physical or fast enough for the wing. I think he could be if he hit the weights because he's got the fight for it.
So Grayson freely admits he realises that Catts and Ndong can't play together, next team sheet, plays them together.
Run up to this game. Not in those words but he's acknowlaged playing two holding midfielders isn't for every game yet he's doing it every single ****ing game. Asked whether Ndong and Cattermole are too similar, Grayson said: “I think its a fair assessment. There are a lot of players who have more to give to get the level that they’re capable of. “Those two have played at the highest level, what I’ve got to do is get the right options if I do choose to play someone else instead of one of them or alongside them. “It depends on where you’re playing and who you’re playing against, there’s two arguments to it. “Someone like Jonny [Williams] gives you a lot more quality on the ball, he sees a pass, makes things happen, has he got the defensive quality? “If you put him in there and you’re overrun then people will say well you should have played two holding midfielders. “It’s a balance with who and where you’re playing. “Maybe those two are suited to playing away from home, at home not as much.” “Against QPR they were outnumbered because we went with the 4-4-2 in possession, and QPR had three in there, so its not easy to get on the ball as much, but I do feel in that game both of them probably had to handle the ball a little bit better if we’re going to have sustained periods of pressure. “I think they’d be the first to admit they’ve different qualities to other players, I thought Didier showed his athleticism and drive in the second half, getting around people and letting others play from there. “Do we need to handle the ball better as a team? Of course we do, we need more possession to build sustained attacks.” I mean the home and away bullshite doesn't wash with me. With us currently better away from home lets try and win some games on the road. The only time i've ever heard anybody say play two holding midfielders in my life is when teams come against the Big 4 in the Prem.
I guess so, shame he's a useful one to bring on when defences are getting tired. I reckon McNair will be ready for the next game he's been getting plenty of minutes in and doing fine.
Played 60 minutes yesterday so no god for today(Same for Embelton). What about actually playing Honeyman in his natural position of CM? In stead of forcing him into wide positions constantly, there's also Williams, and that Pob eared thing from Everton. There's options, think Wiliams might be injured but still options.
Yeah Honeyman would be worth a try there. I thought Gooch could play CM but he seems to be being played upfront or nowhere. We need energy in CM.
More Attacking mid but if Grayson thinks he's ok to push forward, why can't he try dropping him back and give it a go? We're flat as fart through the centre, it's too easy to play against.
I think he'd be useful in CM, it'd be like trying to play football with a Rottweiler snapping at your legs.
Safc text says probable foul on Cattermole which led t the goal but never sure whether to believe them. Anyone listening to it?
