Pulis said Jay had a great time here, but it was curtailed by injury. Pleased that Jay was able to say that....now, if he could just do us a favour and not score, his return would be perfect.
On no sleep because my neighbours decided to get into a window-breaking, cops-required domestic dispute at 3am. If we play well, great; if it's a 0-0, I'll at least get a nap.
Weather is awful. Only going to get worse I think. I'm only 40 miles away in Bournemouth, but I think I am going to sit this one out and watch it on TV. Makes me a bad fan, but really can't justify putting my life at risk for a drab 0-0 draw. (Last time I did this was on Boxing Day a couple of years ago and that worked out well )
Nah more just pondering to myself really Jay is 8/1 for first goal. Away win is 7/2. 1-0 away win is 10/1...
If you're out of Southampton and want to know the weather here, this is a good site. It's about a quarter of a mile from St Mary's by the town end of the Itchen bridge. Current wind speed, a massive 8mph. http://www.southamptonweather.co.uk/ Vin
The 7/2 away win is a good price imo - if we're being objective, it's excellent value. But you know better than to take gambling advice from me.
Agree mate just posted elsewhere that it's great value if we're honest. But I won't be doing a large stake so wanna combine with the Jay goal. Still undecided anyway, just bored at work really. And
So lets say you put a tenner on for an away 1-0 win. Saints are losing 1-0 and it's the 94th minute and by some fluke saints get a penalty....don't tell me you won't have mixed feelings on whether we score or not.
Could call it as a win-win situation, but surely no Saints fan would want us to not equalise. Have to be a lot more than a hundred to tempt me.
Yep it is meant to get a lot windier from 4pm and 80% chance of rain (just 20% atm). If it was a 3pm kick off I would do the drive etc, but 5:30pm (~7:30 finish) is just such a crap time to come out to with all that weather to drive for another hour (best case scenario when we leave St Mary's) to get home. Feel a bit of a plastic and I hope I will be gutted to miss a nice win, but with my 7-8 week illness I am coming off the back of, it isn't worth it. My mate was a bit put out, but now I am the one put out as he doesn't have BT sport so I said he could watch it round here
Ha! An interesting comparison actually cos I always would rather Saints do well rather than win the bet. The cut off is normally a grand... I've celebrated a late Saints goal that's cost me 5-600 quid a few times. Over a grand is where the mixed feelings come in though. I don't do it for the money, more a compensation thing to cheer me up if we lose. Would rather lose the money but at least if Saints lose I can drown my sorrows. Used to do it almost every week in the lower leagues, Rochdale was a notable one
Actually Vin, as a total weather nerd (I have my own weather station that monitors temperature, humidity, pressure, air quality, rainfall etc and uploads it to weather underground to help with weather forecasting for the area), that is a great site Bookmarked
