I agree and IMHO , I think Mercedes have had a word ( I imagine it was them who got his tweet removed ) . If he takes the knee , it will have an impact possibly huge on their car sales .

If Bernie was in charge he would convince him not to as F1 doesnt get involved in politics.

Besides, although I agree with black Americans and respect and back what they are doing. Lewis Hamilton... (a daddies boy from Stevenage given the opportunities of racing go karts and thrown money by rich people, never experiencing police brutality and the oppression of living in a poor area of an american city)... doing it would seem rather Lame.

    Meanwhile in the UK...

He's been asked that question, and said that he won't. While he supports those taking the knee over here, it's not really his place to do so.

Would be another slap in the Trumpy McTrumpface if he did though.

Is it just me or is the picture terrible on More4? Bit rate must be very low. Freeset and Freeview similarly poor.

I don't agree...Being rich, being given a push by the wealthy and not going through the experiences of other Blacks is no reason not to show support for the cause. Not only Blacks alone participated in the struggle again slavery and apartheid. When Martin Luther King was marching up and down fighting for the rights of Blacks there were several Whites supporting his cause.... But I agree, that if I were him I probably wouldn't do the knee thing in the USA.,

It's often forgotten that every single race on Earth victimised the others when they could, every race has been slaver and enslaved, but only one nation had the common decency and will to end it. William Wilberforce, the greatest of British heroes. He died 3 days after hearing his lifes work was complete and the British government had finally outlawed slavery in the whole commonwealth, which effectively ended the trade.

So it seems all Renault powered teams will have drivers will different spec engines for the rest of the season.

Nico Hulkenberg will be taking a grid penalty for the Austin Formula 1 race, with Renault introducing a revised engine featuring 2018 development parts.

The manufacturer has been careful to give one example of the new engine to both of its customer teams, Red Bull and Toro Rosso, at the same time that the works outfit gets one, ensuring parity.

However, these will be the only engines of the new R.E.17G spec to be introduced this season, creating a potential disparity in performance between the drivers in each of the three outfits.

Hulkenberg and Toro Rosso's Brendon Hartley have already taken new engine components, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen set to join them on Saturday.

All three will also take other fresh power unit elements of standard spec, and it’s not clear yet exactly how many grid penalties each will log.

“It’s all related to the internal combustion engine,” Renault Sport boss Cyril Abiteboul told Motorsport.com. “And it’s parts that are in line with what is envisaged for 2018, and which we could bring forward to 2017.

"To be clear, it’s not all of what we’re planning for 2018, but it’s a step in that direction, it’s a healthy step in terms of performance and also reliability.

“However, the bigger reliability issues are in another part of the power unit. We still have obviously to be very careful with what we’re doing, particularly on the hybrid side, the ERS. On our side it also goes hand in hand with a new fuel, which is coming from BP.”

    Track sounds bumpy off line...

Lot of lost laps for Vettel there, that's what you get for eating Jelly in your car.

Any idea who in Renault has the '2018' spec power unit? Seems like Hulk and Sainz are so close.

that sounds right, I can't believe it's the reason Max has pwned Danny though, that's a massive gap.

Which makes Sainz's debut look particularly impressive so far.
