I think you watch Davis with your eyes closed. Whilst I agree that he has not been at his best for sometime, to claim that he never picks a dangerous pass makes me wonder what you have been watching.
I'd like to see the usual team but with Boufal playing as a central 10 behind Gabbi. I feel we're pretty well set defensively (won't discuss FF here) so it's all about our forward 3-1 Keep Tadic & Redmond in (never really thought I'd say that & I'm still shocked as I read back) who should be able to provide support & a degree of back tracking. Boufal's trickery in that role & probably more importantly, in that position could be a match winner in itself. Wtf do I know tho. IMHO, I think MP will go with the same as last week. He seems to me a very cautious coach & will only try small, minor changes week by week.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41682565 Lawro predicts a 2-1 win for Saints....as does Joe Root. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...rsenal-to-bounce-back-spurs-to-edge-liverpool Merson gone for 0-0.
And Redmond coming off early on in the second half vs Newcastle maybe suggests that he is now seeing the light with Redmond too. Baby steps from Pellegrino, but finally signs that he's moving in the right direction. Of course, that goes down the pan if Davis or Redmond start on Saturday. Give it a few more weeks, and we might finally get our 3-5-2.
Right back at you. He has absolutely 0 instinct in the final third of the pitch. That's not to say that he hasnt made good passes at times, but those moments are far too rare.
Forecast is still for very strong winds on Saturday. Perfect for WBA hoofball, Forster needs to be on toip form coming to gather any long balls into the box.
I think he does have the instinct, certainly to get the ball forward. We all know his finishing is generally woeful. and in that sense he's not really a forward. He is the guy who plays the forwards in. and In order to do that, there needs to be movement in front of the ball, as soon as we win possession. Too often there hasn't been, and that's not Davis' fault. We all see different things though, I'll give you that. I just think you're picking the wrong scapegoat.
