Evening Ipswich fans, fulham fan in peace. Sorry to hear about your result this evening and was wondering whether David Stockdale was as bad as the result suggests, or whether it was poor defending. It would come as a great surprise to us Fulham fans if Stockdale isn't performing for whatever reason. Best of luck for the rest of the season, hopefully your fortunes will turn round sooner rather than later!
Without Stockdale it would've been double. He made at least half a dozen very handy saves. Can't fault him for any of them.
Thanks for confirming that. I really thought you were going to have a good season - hope your luck turns soon.
It wouldn't surprise me if Stockdale is recalled after this and I can't see any of the players we are trying to attract signing after the last couple of results, so I think it has to turn around straight away or it will be curtains for Jewell.
I do feel for Stockdale - the only player worth his wage packet today - he must be wondering what he's let himself in for. I agree with Hamps, this is not exactly the publicity you want for England's no.3 goalie, and unless results change drastically, Fulham will be pulling the plug on his loan spell.
Well at least you know he's getting good practice although with many more games like that I'd be worried that he's going to get a bad back!!! remember "bend the knees"!!!
I can't see him being recalled to sit on our bench. At least he's getting a game with you guys and, from the sounds of it, isn't doing himself an injustice. While I'm encouraged to hear he's looking like your best player, I can't say I'm pleased at how things are going for the Tractor Boys. Hope you guys can turn it around.
i think he has already packed his bag ,and i dont blame him one bit if PJ cant turn it around by the leeds game , he must do the right thing and GO##
Stockdale's just posted this on Twitter: 'Rumours of me going back are rubbish! It's a team game and I'm part of that team too!! I don't throw the towel in! Time to fight and stand' Good man!
Stockdale was the only thing that saved Ipswich from what could have been a high double figured embarrassment. They should think themselves lucky he was there and that Peterborough took their foot off the pedal after 6 went in.
Jewell's the problem. I never thought Ipswich were a major contender for the top 6, atleast no more than a dozen or so teams in the league. He's brought in players like Ellington (whilst Scotland and Priskin can't get a game, is Nathan Ellington really any better?) and didn't replace McAuley. Tommy Smith and Carlos Edwards in defence? That's poor.
Not even two 'keepers would do any good with the players we have at CB. Stockdale's decision making has been poor for me at times (I'm talking against Southampton), but he made crucial saves against Peterborough. He certainly has magnificent distribution, and his shot-stopping is good - just needs to come off his line a bit quicker and I think he'd be the real deal.
