Took it well considering all the confusion surrounding what had actually happened. Does anyone who was sat in the rainham end see what happened? It looked like we scored but it got pulled back for a handball! Anyway well done ked's great to see his hard work rewarded!
Yeah Kedders knocked the ball on to the centre of the box and the Plymouth player handled it, Weston smashed it in and I thought the ref had given the goal but the Lino had his flag up. Ref then took an age deciding what to do and eventually gave the penalty and sent the guy off. Rest as they say is history.
Both penalties well taken! Great to see him on the score sheet at last. He worked really hard today and was my second choice for man of the match after Lawrence. Great to see Kedwell get two well deserved goals and Gills get a well deserved win! UTG!
I was in a good position to have taken a better pic for the 2nd penalty but it was all just to much excitement for one day!
It was a good all round performance - especially in the 2nd half. The Gills showed their patience and continued to pass their way forward. They fully deserved the win. The cause was almost foiled by the referee. IF it was handball I didn't see the linesman put the flag across his chest to indicate a penalty - and as the ball was in the net a split second later - in my opinion in the same 'phase' of play, then surely the referee should have employed descretion and allowed the goal - I didn't think Kedwell would miss but there was a lot of pressure on him at the time- it could have gone wrong. Yet again the linesman on the Gordon Road side was poor. UTG UTG
I couldn't believe that shot which got 'cleared' off the line. Cleared being probabl the wrong word as that defender didn't know much about it! I'm not even sure who took the shot it all happened so fast (possibly Lee?)! Lawrence's header off the bar too!! Nail-biting stuff! Gills really stepped it up second half!
The linesman did signal the handball, and did put the flag across his chest, the goal couldn't stand as Weston was offside when he received the ball.
yeh,totally agree,who picks motm ??.Lee played ok but Lawrence was superb again (thought he was motm against cheltenham as well) .Matt and framps look absolutely solid.Rainham end was rocking at the end.
bang on not sure if he was offside but basically the offside happened after the hand ball therefore advantage nullified and the pen awarded. was a complete mess but as i said at the time we got the result we wanted from the situation which was a goal. brb it was lees thunder strike. i'd like to see it again as it looked like it was stopped on the line with a hand tbh but who cares, 3 points and a good boost for our goal difference. best of all kedwell off the mark and hopefully will go onwards and upwards from there ps brb where were you sitting, i cant have been far away from you?
