.................................but we were worse. Now tell me, in all honesty where does that leave us? I thought the mags were hapless, one of the worst teams I've seen in a long time at the SOL and they will struggle badly this season against teams that take their chances but that said, we got beat off them. Now thats very scary on our behalf to say the least!

We started brightly enough though and controlled the opening 15 or 20 mins but they just hung in and started to come in to the game by half time. We didn't take our chances when they came and never looked like doing so. In the end, they actually had the best efforts and should have had a penalty as well. No question.

2nd half was worse than last seasons apathetic display. Lethargic, no direction and no goal threat whatsoever. Did we actually have a meaningful shot in the 2nd 45?

We bought players in the summer that were supposedly going to give us the strength and experience and then either havent played them or played them out of position. Why move Larsson to accommodate a woeful Muhammady. He was shocking today but no more than Richardson at left back. How ****e did he look today? Clumsy, poor positional play and hapless tackling. He is one of the worst left backs we have had at the club and makes Steve Whitworth look like Paulo Maldini. What about our supposedly top class international striker and BBC African footballer of the year? Gyan was just a waste of space and his body language looked like a man with no interest at being here at all. We simply have to sell him now and use that money and more to bring in a goal scorer, a left midfielder and a left back/right back ASAP.

Its a case of Bruce playing square pegs in round holes yet again. Nothing learned from the shambles of the final few months and I'm afraid to say another nail in his coffin for me. 3 derby games and 3 abject displays, this after a promising 60 mins at Anfield last week? Is he really just that unlucky or is he managing to lose these games on purpose?

I was happy to see Bruce given a chance to see if he had learned by his errors and redeem himself on Wearside. He clearly hasn't learned a ****ing thing. Noocarsel were a shambolic affair, with no real quality other than they worked hard and yet, I cant sit here and say we deserved anything out of the game either. We were at home and the onus was in us to take the game to them and we failed. Bruce has Swansea away and Brighton in the cup before we take on Chelsea at home in 2 weeks. 1 home game in and the air of gloom has reappeared very early this time. He just doesnt have a plan B? Why did it take 70 mins to make a change? We were shocking 5 mins before half time. Why was Gardener on the bench? Why was Larsson on the left and

3 defeats and an early cup exit and I'm afraid its time for him to go, before the season is lost again and we slide into another relegation battle. Whilst Martin O Neil is still on gardening duties, there is a ready replacement that will cost only Bruce's severance pay to get and for me, MoN is simply more tactically aware and has a game plan that works.

Bruce out? Not yet but defeat at Swansea and Brighton and a thrashing at home to Chelsea and Quinn has to be a man not a mouse. I'm simply tired of SB's lame pathetic excuses after defeats now and this trend has just continued from the shambles that was the last 4 months of the campaign last season.

Its simply not good enough and neither is Steve Bruce the Sunderland manager. He bemoaned the fact we didn't take our chances but neglected to say it was him who ****ing sold our best striker, didn't replace him in January and still hasn't ****ing replaced him yet, with only 2 weeks of the transfer window left. Clueless ****wit or what?

Well done to the mags however, yet another Wearside victory. In 36 years, I've seen us win one derby game and that's just pathetic. With the fat Geordie controller as manager, we wont see any others. He doesn't want to win one. Simple as.

Can you tell I am totally pissed off tonight or what?

Your best chances were from 20 yards and I'm sick of you lot being arrogant without reason before we beat you.

All valid points Cest, for some reason SB seams to be tactically inept. He has had the financal backing of Ellis Short, and the general backing of Niall, time to start performing and bloody soon. If not get someone in that will MON or someone of that stature. I feel so let down at the minute I don't know what to do with myself. The wife is now pissed off as well as I have already chewed her head off, thanks SB. Rant Over. :emoticon-0107-sweat

It was a derby and they usually are scrappy but I'm serious when I say we have a better squad already than last season. I'm not sure our first 11 is but we have options from the bench in Gosling, Marveux and Ba. In 2 weeks we will have a new left back and a number 9.

    See you in March. x

How the **** can any mackems claim we were awful when we beat them? It's beggars belief <doh>

There's more to a game than just scoring goals you pleb. Yes, our attack wasn't really up to much, but our defence was very well organised and our midfield was strong. All in all we played well. If we didn't, Sess and Gyan had ample opportunities to bag a lot of goals. Thankfully, we didn't let them.

We weren't good but we still scored one goal, had a goal stopped by a hand-ball which should have also been a red card and Gosling could easily have scored when we was 1 on 1 with Mignolet.

We done enough to win the game obviously and everything else is irrelevant. I don't buy into this whole "we were ****e" nonsense, but it doesn't surprise me as I had you down as a bad loser anyway.

Bardsley's tackle should have been a straight red and 3 game ban, that's the only thing I'm ****ed off about atm.

    Otherwise: <party>

If you actually think Newcastle out played us today, you definitely are deluded.

Apart from one save Krul made in the first half, as well as you clipping the top of the bar, what chances worried us? You kept giving the ball away. Our tactics were clear, get a goal and defend and we did it really well. We should have had a penalty(or are you going to deny that) as well as your keeper making a similar save to Krul with a shot from Cabaye.

On the evidence of today, both teams on display will be bottom half and relegation battling. If any mag thinks that was a good performance by them, then they are kidding themselves. Any team that you encounter that can score chances will thrash you out of sight.

We got beat of a parcel of ****e but as I have just said, we were worse.

Just a shame most mags cant read, or that would have shone through in my post but then as most mags are just thick ****s, I'm not surprised either.

Maybe you just need to accept you aren't as good as us. How many times do we need to prove it?

    Get a better team. Simple.

Calling us sh*te after we deserved a good win away from home in an intense derby is pathetic.

    Lose with grace you ****

The win is all important. Playing well often comes hand in hand with winning, but is worthless otherwise.
