Simple Saturday competition for anyone who wants to join in Rules: Select one horse in each televised race (see below) Choose one race for your nap selection Your selection will be deemed to be a "win bet" However, you may choose for any of your selections to go ew - if so please specify "ew" Points will be gained based on the return to a £2 win at SP or a £1 ew at SP as applicable (Place odds are 1/4 odds 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th depending on the number of runners) The nap selection will score double points NRs may be replaced at any time before the race start time. Well done to Doalittle on winning the competition but I think somebody should send Ron back to school unless my adding up is wrong. I had a 5/1 winner (Withhold = £10 + £2 stake) and a non-runner (Empress Ali = £2 refund). I make that £14. Does my refund not count? I might do better most weeks picking six non-runners!
Sorry QM. Just got in from a long evening out. The adding up was fine but having always replaced the NRs by the fav in this comp, I never had void bets before and unfortunately there was a very silly error that incorrectly returned £0 for the void bet. You certainly wouldn't be better off picking NRs with that little booboo (now corrected). My apologies also for not notifying you of the NR before the race. Unfortunately I was out all day from early morning (football tournament and match) until late afternoon.
That is okay, Ron. Notifying me of the non-runner would have made no difference as I was driving to HQ so I could not have substituted it. If you can last a whole day on the sidelines at a football tournament, you should check if you have any Scottish blood as there is a vacancy.
In the morning, we went to watch our 8yo grandson in an under 9 tournament and in the afternoon we went to watch our 11 yo grandson in an U13 league match.
