Now we have seen that NP put out a strong team of our available players. 4,5,1 clearly does not work at home. Palace just put eight men behind the ball and invited city to try to get passed them. We couldn't do it with our tippy tappy football. I think we need to play more direct with a 4-4-2. So it needs changing for next Saturday, so what do our posters think is the answer? Neither the Bullard in or the Pearson out are sensible suggestions - who do we need in? Olli is also I believe a non starter, his contract clause for playing again rules that out. Personally think a goal poacher and someone in midfield who can break down a defence with a killer pass.
We desperately need someone to start scoring , that's stating the blindingly obvious. I'm still convinced Matty Fryatt will get twenty goals this season if he stays fit but Le Fondre must be worth a punt . How much would he cost though ?
i feel sorry for fryatt...hes missed chances this season, and isnt at full tilt, but hes expected to do far too much on his own..
its never good at home 4-5-1....but if it was immediatley after it worked at ipswich, you could maybe forgive it.. but we got dry bummed after playing it at leeds, and only created chances after a second striker came on..so to then go back to 4-5-1 at home, is baffling to say the least..
If we got dry bummed at Leeds, which we did, I would like to hear what your description of Ipswich's result today would be .
AGREED. BUT what contract clause for Oli ? as for La Fondra 500K is the price. city could also offerf emerton and holahan on season long loans.
Would anyone consent to being dry bummed ? It's not something I have given much thought to until now .
Four games in and I'm reaching for the Stanley knife...A tonking next week at the hands of Reading may put me over the edge. I cannot for the life of me understand why we play 4-5-1 at home. Brady put in a couple of crosses but with no one in the box. The midfield 5 were in well - midfield. Matt needs someone to play off. You would have thought NP would know that by now, but I am seriously beginning to have my doubts about this fella.
NP said tactics would be changed for the Reading game, I suspect we'll see 4-4-2 with Fryatt and McLean up top (please no Adebola )
