You've missed the point mate. The article is about assessing Klopp not whether utd are genuine contenders as that's already pretty clear.

 

Is it though? The ambiguity over our transfer policy is still ongoing, we're told Klopp has the final say but we don't know what the conditions of this final say are.
Also the idea of the clubs/teams progress is surely more to do with the owners and board members and how much they are willing to improve the club (suppose that means how much money they're really willing to risk) with transfers, youth, commercial etc.
Not saying Klopp is blameless but think FSG should also be looked at in terms of how or if the club is moving closer to a title.

It's a big game for Klopp imo, a defeat means any vague thoughts of the title have been quashed by your fiercest rivals - after 8 games.

The Liverpool utd games are the biggest in the football calendar, and always have been regardless of either of our managers, team personnel or league position at the time. To hang Klopp's assessment on this one game is neither logical nor fair. It's a big game, always will be and the result goes down in the annals of history not in summing up the current managers future.
