Piece off piss for them in the end. Once Spuds tripped and got thumped at the battle off the bridge. Mind Liverpool always used to **** the mags. Maybe they should adopt FTM.
Yeah, but it won't work for most teams - and it will be impossible for more than half the PL - including Leicester- this season.
Was a perfect storm ... and the sum of our parts was significantly better than the individuals ... with the possible exception of the tiny phenomenon that is N'Golo Kante.
OK, "them". Sorry. I haven't forgiven you lot for that FA Cup win - although I was a very small child then.
Newcastle or Man U when they had the lead over Man City. It can't be Spurs as they were never top. It'd be a different question if it was about blowing 2nd place but wasn't Newcastle like a 12 point lead?
Spurs coming 3rd in a 2 horse race is funny, but they were nowhere near winning a title so they don't really count. Has to go to Newcastle spunking that 12 point lead tbh.
8 clear with 5 to go and we dropped the obvious points, which was annoying. They were better than us though. You're right about Everton, we were 4-2 up, should have gone 5-2 up and drew 4-4.
They did crack but it should also be noted that we won 16 of the last 17 games. One of Fergie's greatest achievements as he won the double with a team in transition after offloading Hughes, Ince and Kanchelskis.
Mate, if we won it I'd never ****ing shut up about it, and nor would you. I still bang on about 1976 whenever I get the chance. And most people on the planet weren't even born then.
That's cos you lot are classless. Me? I would sit back and enjoy it but would never rub anyone's nose in it...not ever
Losing at home to Blackburn on NYD with a CM of Rafael and Park was the biggest **** up that season! Ludicrous selection. I don't see Newcastle as a **** up, the United side that reeled them in were way better than them anyway. Slippy Steve is the biggest. United's biggest **** up is not beating West Ham while Blackburn were losing on the last day in 95.
The double whammy was that this ultimately ensured Pogba left, so costly as well as bafflingly ridiculous.
The most last ditch losses that come to mind and haven't been mentioned are Man Utd drawing with West Ham and Arsenal losing to Leeds. Chelsea drawing on the last day in 07/08 didn't really matter, but it must've pissed the fans off. Newcastle has to be the clear winner though, surely? Keegan's silly meltdown and bringing in Asprilla halfway through the season are still memorable today.
We could have 'The biggest fluke in sporting history' thread. I'd vote Leicester. Bookies thought finding Elvis alive was more likely.
