Absolutely! - if you had made a commitment to them. Just like Roberto should have. By the way i moved on from Roberto a long time ago and like i said im very grateful for what he did for us - however it doesnt change the fact that he treated us shoddily when he left.
He never treated us shoddily as you put it he had no choice as the club would/could not help him to move the club forward, so as far as he was concerned it was job done and he moved on to a new challenge at wigan, now you cant blame him for that as any manager would do the same....so his allegiance's shift from the swans to wigan where his duties are to do the best for them and that is what some fans dont like,, get over it ...its past history ...its gone and Martinez and us have moved on....
His commitment was his contract to us, this was bought out for circa £2m by whelan , and that enabled us to kick on and to become the team we are now. I don't understand this treating the fans shoddily, can you tell me where exactly he did that ? He has been nothing but complimentary about the club since he has left, including the interview on the swans site the other day. He has no obligation to say why he left, that is personal to him and it has nothing to do with us at all, if you left your job to go elsewhere would you feel the need to explain to your soon to be ex work mates and bosses the reasons why you left ?
I for one will applaud Martinez when he returns because he made a massively positive contribution to the clubs development.He took us as far as he could.He had no established connections with bigger clubs and better players to improve the squad without spending big,which was never going to happen with the clubs position at the time.Brendan has utilised his connections very wisely which brought us Sinclair and Borini, and lattery Graham, Lita and Routledge.The club has,arguably, developed further and faster due to Martinez's leaving than if he'd stayed.So once again thank you Roberto for your contribution but we've moved on!
Dai -it was never `job done`as far as Martinez was concerned and if it was he did a bloody good job of convincing us he had a future vision for the club. Jager- its nothing to do with his contract, its the commitment he made with the well publicised comments to the fans that yes he was in it for the long run. lots of managers and players have done the same but if going back on that is ok with you (without even acknowledging it) then we will have to agree to disagree. ps if i met him tomorrow (not likely as i live in S.America) i would also thank him for what he did!

as of yet ive heard nobody mention how clever roberto is. as i see it he played a very good game with maedia and fans and actively cultivated total loyalty. now if its just a normal professional job/career as some have mentioned then why feel the need to build a water tight bond with fans and media, why talk and preach so heavily about all things swansea when it was just another job ?? sousa and indeed most other managers have never pulled on the heart strings of fans and used this as a tool to strenghen their position bobby is a smart guy ,he knew what he was doing when he was playing the total loyalty card. he knew he was lying through his teeth and he was the expert of smoke and mirrors . im not actually that fussed about him these days, i personally thought he was way off being good enough long term,i felt he had a massive advantage by knowing all the players and knowing their strengths before he became manager ,our scouting wasnt bad before he came and swansea always tried to play the right way as a club. it would be unfair not to give him credit however . he did well for us and enhanced what were already very sound footings. no matter what anyone says though ,he really did **** on the fans from a great height. he was professional and experienced enough to know how football worked so he never needed to use the amount of bullshit that he did. this is what upset alot of fans IMO. anyway ,all in the past and we have all moved on . 3pts is all im intrested in tomorrow but he will always be known as a judas to me
Well he said what he said, as I said previously you would have to be monumentally naive to believe it all without question , and when he said those things he believed them, he was playing the loyalty thing because of players like trunds,robbo,dorus were always looking for another team, trunds basically was begging everton to come for him, where is the kind of crap levied firmly at his door when he dumped us for the wurzles? Guys i think the biggest issue was the length of time his move took. coupled with the raiding of our players and backroom staff. this almost set us back a long way. just look at the first few games under soussa and the panic buys. I respect every thing he did for us. I hated the fact that he left us an left us in deep sh*t. but i have to admit he was the one who set us on our way. Still was very disappointed with the comments made about commitment. I have now moved on. Just hope we make him realise what he left behind. lets win and make the Liberty rock. Something he wouldnt have heard at the DW.

The shot with the outside of his boot to hit the bar was outstanding. I'd have him back in a shot even if the diving doesn't sit well with us fans. Thought his team mates showed a lot of gamesmanship today. Frequently when we broke there was a foul. Very disappointing to see that at this level.
Remember the stick HE gave Trundle & Bodde for leaving and trying to leave, whilst I respect his contribution to our club and position, this is a man who will use any tool to get what he wants, even certain phrases to sell his book, which I bought, so forgive me if I dont lay a red carpet for him, because I dont want to!
That is up to you, but don't forget trunds left us in the lurch at that time, he brought Scotland in to partner him and that left us a little in a mess when half your strike force up sticks! And as bodde had his head turned by other clubs he was talked to I believe , what do you want a manager of our club do, just let him leave ?
