It would fail at a referendum. Which is academic, as there's no way the council want to take control of the SMC and they'd never pay for it.
Sorry charon, didn't see your post. At least we agree he was full of **** then and is still full of ****.
So where will the money come fromto runa successful club. There's no chance of the stadium freehold for any new investor, there's no money In it for them with a joint investment with the council .there are no other wealthy local sugar daddies to indulge us. The "sociedad" model, while unique, Arf, isn't going to work is it. Where does the club go from here?
bollocks you should have published them as promised. The only reason you haven't is because of the self serving nature of some of them there.
If they put it to a referendum and people voted yes. They would have a mandate to do it. Which is the point of a referendum. If the vote was no they would have a mandate to do nothing at all. It is a no lose for the council and there may be more political will for this then ever before. I would like the leaders of the council to take the bull by the horns and buy it back at whatever price . Assem Allam has previously offered to sell it back. He may however prefer to sell it to a new owner along with his football club. Not for one minute do I expect the council to go in that direction but I would like them to
It's funny that the reason we were given is because of Dr Allam's mad ramblings. None of which are a surprise. Won't have been owt to do with the majority of them struggling to speak with their tongues stuck firmly up the good Dr's arse and the offers to mobilise the supporters to harangue the council.
Basically if all you have is the membership income and a small amount of tv revenue plus commercial income then the club would have to rely on selling players such Tymon and Bowen to make ends meet. It wouldn't be the end of the world.
With an expensive stadium to upkeep. I'm ok with that but that lack if ambition equates to smaller gates. We'll be another Posh or brentford.
Maybe so... but a solvent well run club finding its own level would be better than it was on the day the Allams arrived and would be better than we have now imo We (many of us, at least) want the owners to go. The owners want to go. The clock is ticking.
Thats all fair enough but it wouldn't end the fight between the Allams and the HCC. it would create more problems. The SMC really needs to be in the hands of a third party.
