In case you didn't notice. They have started to stockpile cash, with more to come. Sometime soon this club will have to live of it's own income. That is not a bad thing.
Despite not living nth of the Humber for the past 40 years I agree, HCC were correct then and now, five years down the line, I'm betting pretty much everyone is convinced they were right too. The sooner this farce is over the better it will be for everyone.
Except it didn't happen quite like that according to Assem Allam. Brady initially said yes and then no when he needed Geraghty's vote. By which time he had put £30 million of his and his family's money into Hull City. You can see why he was a tad upset with the Council.
The clue is in the words according to Assem Allam, pure fantasy if you ask me. It was gift to the City of Hull and not one penny of it was ever begrudged. He is a man of his word.
Accounts up to end of last season should be published soon (if recent history is anything to go by) then we should find out how much of a surplus there was.
Yeah I thought that Wasn't the story that he turned up here with a tenner in his pocket and became self made?
Not sure where your post has gone, but the bit about the solution being HCC taking back control of the SMC. I don't think that would work. As it is now the Allams are paying nothing to the HCC and barely keeping up with the maintenance of the stadium. I can see them demanding the HCC fix everything and still not pay a going rate for using the stadium. Nothing but more legal battles.
I thought he'd turned up with loads, been told by the bank that it was counterfeit, and was then gifted £20 out of pity?
I know, for now the SMC is the Allams and people say the stadium is slowly falling to bits, not keeping up the maintenance. Should the HCC become the owner of the SMC the Allams would be demanding everything to be repaired immediately.
It's all bullshit - he was on his way to Germany to attend college - he went via UK to see family and ended up staying here - no fleeing just bullshit - if I turned up at a bank with a load of counterfeit money I wouldn't expect them to give me £20 in the mid sixties - full of **** then full of **** now - he's a human colostomy bag
My solution would be this... The council should agree a price to buy back the superstadium management company. £1 plus the accumulated debt, or possibly less. Based on the figure agreed on, they could put that to referendum. For instance... Should the council taxpayers of Hull agree to the council obtaining lock stock and barrel ownership and management of the circle for £10 million quid Yes/No...or tick box I would vote yes, not everyone would.
