Jesus H Christ. Thanks OLM as at least it confirms all our worst fears and what exactly we are dealing with. Trouble is given his views on his children it sounds like we've probably gone from bad to worse.
Thanks to OLM for posting. Have to admit, although hindsight is a contributor to this, I was cringing throughout and was glad when I finished reading.
I'm probably missing it , but I can't see it anywhere, when he keeps going on about shortening the name , nobody pointed out he wasn't .
He often quotes Coca Cola as a short, snappy name ideal for marketing. Now, can we think of any local sporting club with 4 letters and 4 letters? That would be a good name to market, surely.
For me it was the smoke being blown up Dr Allam's arse by people who seem to have presented an entirely different face to the public that made me cringe. No wonder they kept schtum though, they thought they were gonna be on the board of the new English Barcelona. Offering to mobilise the fans against the council? Oh how I laughed. The bit about local businesses not being interested, whilst not a huge surprise, is still slightly sad and irksome. Considering the community aspect, not surprised that was kept under wraps too. Dr Allams comments were all as expected. The comments by the people there, not so much. No wonder they turn so violently on anyone who doesn't share their opinions on the owners now, obviously driven by some embarrassment. People in glass houses springs to mind.
Fascinating and certainly there was no need not to publish it for nearly 4 years. The crux of it. So Brady's bullshitted it to get the Allams to buy on the promise of the freehold or some deal on development. The council are liars and cheats. Councillor Brady went back on his word because he needed Geraghty’s vote. The Councilwanted a joint venture which I am not interested in. I keep telling them this. It is a way for minimum wage Councillors to collect £25k a year as directors of a company.
Ah soz. Not like I was going to join the patting you on the head club and tanking you for finally doing what you shoulda done years ago. Like I said, nothing new from Dr Allam but plenty on the attendees that will be a surprise to some. Especially those that thought you and your ilk had always been against the Allams, or at least distrustful. Don’t worry though, I’m sure they’ll continue to ignore that and give you the adulation you desire. I called the duplicitous nature and self serving of some quite a while ago, and that vindicates that view. In front of the owner: Yes yes Dr Allam, you’re a hero. Yes yes we appreciate everything you do. You want us to deal with the council? It’s done. In private: can’t trust him or believe anything he says. Why shouldn’t I point that out? Oh aye, me being right all along makes me a ****. Lol. Of course you’ll keep throwing **** at me. Of course you’ll deny it. Of course I’ll still be laughing at you. Seriously, despite huge gaps, thanks for finally posting the notes, they are brilliant.
Spot on. Everyone just seemed to ignore his constant contradiction of himself and let him continually talk a load of rubbish. I was expecting to see people really defending our name rather than letting him research what impact it had. It could of made us hundreds of millions but I would still say no.
Four years ago nobody was being disrespectful, we were just meeting the bloke who saved the club, to try and convince him not to attempt changing the club's name. Everything else came later. You're an idiot. A desperate one.
Indeed, thanks to all concerned for pulling these together and sharing them. What have they offered to the whole sorry mess? Tone and context. I am seriously flabbergasted by the tone of certain attendees. Ingratiating is an understatement. I would guess that it is correct, as has recently been stated, that just about everything worthy of note has been shared at some point over the years. For me it (the bits I've seen) lacked the importance of context with the flow of the discussion. It's enlightening on both sides. I recall posting strongly against giving them their audience and promises, nay, pleas for collaboration; hindsight hasn't changed that. Fortunately somethings did change and we should focus on the positive initiatives going forward and give that long overdue closure to this sorry assembly.
Fair enough. I appreciate notes will never show the emotion of the words said and they are not word for word what happened. i still think my point stands based on the notes I've read.
I read it as the group just trying to be as diplomatic as possible. After all he did save our club. You're never going to get a man like Assem to see reason, by calling him **** right from the off.
