    It's an outdated and pointless institution that has little relevance in 2017. However, they can crack on for me, as long as the sponging ****s pay for themselves <ok>

    I feel the same, they can crack on as the thought of some plum like Boris or Farage becoming our President or something is quite terrifying.

    Exactly. As I mentioned previously, they should get somebody like Merlin entertainment to manage them as a private business, the income they earn as a tourist attraction can pay for them swanning about in gold carriages etc.

    Monarch needs to go and house of Lord's needs to be reformed.

    I've said before, I think one of our two houses should be elected (commons, keep it like it is now) and one should be picked by sorti like the ancient Greek democracies used to have.

    FYI... Why by Sorti. (Like a jury) with terms lasting 6 months.

    1) For good or bad, it better represents population. Not everyone has the charisma or means to run for office.

    2) If picked by sorti for short periods of time you're going to vote what you think is right. Not what you think will get you elected... Or what your party tells you how to vote.


    Would still want one house elected for balance. Certainly if we had a head of state should be elected not picked by sorti.

    Based on the timeline we'd have two and half thousand years before we need Germany to bail us out if we emulate Greece now.
