    Tony Benn

Always able and willing to tell people the harsh truth, when the others try to gloss over their indiscrepancies.

The best Prime Minister England never had.

The people of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are forever grateful that the back-stabbing old hypocrite never got the keys to Number 10 or we'd be a third world country by now.

There are lots of good politicians out there. Hard working, committed and honest. Unfortunately, the reputation is spoiled by those possessed with power at any cost and by those who see politics as a way of lining their own nests.

I know quite a few politicians, Westminster and Holyrood based, and most of them are decent, hardworking folk who, despite what some think, work long hours and hardly enjoy any holidays.
