So no need now for Southgate to risk any of
Kane/Alli/Dier/Trippier in the final group game.
I am in similar mind about Winks too.

That would need the assumption that Southgate has a clue what he is doing and that he has picked a balanced squad to begin with. There is so much dross in the squad that even the most amateurish of managers would look at it and think '****! I've got to pick 11 players to start from this. Daniel Bleedin' Sturridge for gawds sake!'.

I sometimes think Sterling should be playing for the ladies team......with respects to the ladies! He runs like a girl, tackles like a girl and acts silly like that girl we used to know at school.

For those confused about Marcus Edwards' current hairdo ... <Spurcat>

Sure, if he has our interests in mind. Not sure why he would though.

Apart from the fact that our injury-free players are
featuring regularly in his starting XIs (one of whom
won him the game yesterday) , a no-brainer to
be doing as much as he can to de-risk possible
summer 2018 injuries.

Did Winks feature?
No. There was a like-for-like substitution of Oxlade-Chamberlain with Lingard (both were crap) and then he brought Keane (centre half) on for Sterling thus freeing Walker to play further forward which helped us score (but I doubt it was tactical genius). He could have played a lamp stand instead of Henderson and got the same level of creativity so Winks would have been a good change.

Georgia v Wales is about to start, for anyone that feels the need to cleanse their palate after that dogs dinner.
It's on Sky and the Welsh are starting Ben Davies and Chris Gunter at fullback.

England XI with none of the starters from last night:
Butland; Trippier, Keane, Smalling, Maguire, Cresswell; Winks, Livermore; Alli, Defoe, Lingard.
Subs: Forster, Pickford, Sturridge.

Three too many Spurs players in there.
And for the sunday game, I agree 100% with the haters. :)

Not sure why Sterling or Oxlade-Chamberlain aren't on the list, as it's not like they played a match last night...

Meanwhile, in Tbilisi

Could make the game against Wales interesting on Monday.

England U21s start with Walker-Peters and Onomah in the lineup.
They face a Scotland side that's captained by Oliver Burke, who was being touted for great things.
Had a patchy season at Leipzig and is now at West Brom.

England U19s lost 1-0 to the Czech Republic in Znojmo, which is apparently a place.
No Spurs players got any game time, which explains the result, though Japhet Tanganga was an unused sub.

Daryl Murphy scores again, as Ireland make it 2-0. Really good header, after a scrappy opener.
