There's far less of a buzz about Timmy's potential 10IAR run right now than there was with our 9IAR in the 1990s, and it's for precisely this reason.

Yes, they were useless on the park back then but at least on paper they could have challenged us.

What happened to us in 2012 however was entirely unprecedented, and for the following four seasons we were literally unable to stop Celtc winning the top flight title. Spending a second season in the Championship during 2015/16 was our own fault admittedly, but nevertheless it was another season outside of the Premiership.

If heaven forbid they make it 10 - and I don't believe they will - they'll no doubt enjoy rubbing it in our faces, but fewer people will give a **** about it than would have had we won 10 ourselves in 1998.

Your average Tim might argue that it wasn't their fault we spent several years outside of the top flight, so why shouldn't they hype up the prospect of 10IAR? Whilst this is technically true, they know in their heart of hearts that it's a tainted run they are on.

Anyway, I predict they'll fail to make it 10 so it's all academic in any case.
