With respect, Bod. Chelsea don't have to worry about 32m. To us it's a lot of money. 4/5 years ago we signed the lad for 1m and it was a big deal.
we're not saying that's not a big/great deal for you boys. It's about you missing the deadline (whether that was through infrastructure, someone forgetting to send an email etc). It's a harsh decision but one they abided by. if you hadn't ****ed around with medicals, transfer fees it would all have been done in time. Its unfortunate that the transfer went through agreed but that the international clearance didn't and he's in limbo. I believe Real didn't get to buy De Gea because the paperwork didn't go in on time.
Call me a cynic, but I doubt you'd feel that way had the shoe been on the other foot. Yes. Rules are rules. But surely common sense has to prevail? Surely someone at FIFA says "nobody is benefitting with Silva sat in the stands, the European Champions will be missing a key player for the World Cup, Sporting Club de Portugal aren't being paid, the player isn't paid and Leicester City are missing a key player". As I've said, if we'd chanced it and sent to documents in 14 minutes late then I agree. We'd have no leg to stand on. 14 seconds shows we've clearly worked our arses off to get the deal done and we've missed the deadline by such a miniscule amount of time.
But missed it nonetheless. You're right, I'd be pissed if it were Chelsea going through it. But it aint And I would still be able to see that the window was open for months, and people have all that time to buy and register players, if you miss the deadline, you miss the deadline. I think 14 seconds is a tad ridiculous, but its within the rules.....harsh but fair.
Man United dug their heels in and submitted the documents to Real Madrid at something like 10:58 on an 11:00 deadline. Gave them no chance. It also didn't affect anyone really with that deal because United kept De Gea and Real kept Navas. This is different because Silva is currently not registered by anyone.
and it sounds like you submited at a 02:00:14 on a 02:00:00 (or whenever it was, already an extension to the deadline). It's unfortunate for Silva that Leicester screwed it up so badly and that FIFA aren't giving any leeway.
However had Leicester fans been making racist gestures..FIFA would have given them a suspended sentence..you know..one of them..'if you do it again' type of punishments. They should have done the same with something like this, one of them 'dont do it again Lesta' type of warning. It's pathetic, like Aki says...fackin jobsworths
Just refuse to let Drinky leave then. Any normal person would have deduced that the transfer would be touch and go. You had the same amount of time as everybody else to do your business and Leicester ****ed up, nobody else's fault.
You had to get the paperwork to FIFA by 11:00 to be awarded the extra time. That's why it's so ridiculous. Extra time is actually available.
The guy who had Deeney and Ighalo working brilliantly, Flores was it? Before that Jokanovic, why didn't he stay at Watford?
Ighalo was good for a very short period and they rightly cashed in. Flores was decent but Silva appears to be a step up from all those who have gone before him- Mazzarri was useless.
Fairly sure Deeney and Ighalo were working brilliantly in the first half of the season but they completely dropped off and went from fighting for a Europa spot to 13th. Their record in the first half of the season was W8, D5, L6. In the second half it was W4, D4, L11.
It will be Matic....a great player and will be pivotal in winning United the league, a brain fart by the Chavs....talk about being a selling club....bowing down to United. They can't get rid of the small club mentality....ever.
