Really, you think the Allams would like Hull City to be the new landlord and have to negotiate a new agreement with them? Then there's the future of the Airco Arena and the funding of the academy. We'll see whether the Council listen to Inglis and secondly whether they have the balls to do anything about it.

Maybe that's their end game. For the Council to step in and cancel the lease. They'd then move the football club to another stadium. Probably Craven Park.

Last summer's friendly being a dry run.

    They're not daft these Allams.

And we'd all be reminiscing about the 90's - " that David Lloyd fella wasn't a bad owner you know"

For all the old mans bluster, I suspect the last thing he wants is to lose control of the stadium.

This has even pissed off a lot of people who couldn't care less about Hull City and previously had nothing bad to say about the Allams

The perimeter fence will be open at all times except on match days, when it will be closed.

    No that's the gate.

The fence doesn't yet exist - well not in this universe, but it may exist in another universe in which there is a fence but not a gate, City are Champions
League holders, everyone lives in harmony and peace and Ehab's not a ****.

The Council are now planning to formally designate the footpath a Public Right Of Way, so the gate would have to remain open at all times. <laugh>

SMC Statement regarding Security Gate - Hull Fair
    Published 05 October 2017

On 30 September 2017, the access to the KCOM Stadium from the KCOM Stadium end of a pedestrian walkway running from Argyle Street/Londesborough Street to the KCOM Stadium, was closed by way of the shutting of a security gate (“the Gate”) by SMC.

Following recent positive discussions between Hull City Council and SMC, as a gesture of goodwill, SMC has informed Hull City Council that SMC is willing to open the Gate during the following hours of the 2017 Hull Fair period to enable people visiting Hull Fair to travel to and from Hull Fair using the Argyle Street/Londesborough Street pedestrian route to the KCOM Stadium.

    • Friday 6 October 2017 4.30pm - Midnight
    • Saturday 7 October 2017 2pm - Midnight
    • Sunday 8 October 2017 Closed all day
    • Monday 9 October 2017 4pm - Midnight
    - Friday 13 October 2017
    • Saturday 14 October 2017 2pm - Midnight
The opening of the Gate during these hours would result in SMC being exposed to increased public liability issues and incurring additional costs in maintaining the security of the KCOM Stadium and the safety and well being of people using the Argyle Street/Londesborough Street pedestrian walkway to travel to and from Hull Fair across part of the KCOM Stadium land leased to SMC. This proposal was, therefore, subject to Hull City Council indemnifying SMC in respect of those additional costs and liabilities.

That proposal, which remains open for acceptance, has not presently been accepted by Hull City Council. The Gate shall, therefore, remain closed, other than at those times previously publicised by SMC.

Contrary to incorrect statements made on social media and to the local media by third parties, the Gate does not interfere with or obstruct any public rights of way, there being no public rights of way over either the pedestrian walkway running from Argyle Street/Londesborough Street to the KCOM Stadium, nor any part of the KCOM Stadium land leased to SMC.

Likewise, the installation and closure of the Gate does not breach any of the terms of the Lease between Hull City Council and SMC regarding the KCOM Stadium. SMC can only assume that third parties making incorrect statements upon the terms of the Lease have either not read the Lease terms, or have not understood them.

As a gesture of goodwill they're going to open the gate but only if HCC pays the extra costs.

I've just contacted OED and they're going to change the definition of the word goodwill.

It smacks of someone ringing up the lawyer and asking them to come up with a vaguely plausible excuse ASAP.
