You drink beer at the KC? The KCOM? The Circle? I... well I just don't know what to say Chazz. Erm... I... Oh I don't don't know, I'll put you on to Dennis.
Lol, different tastes eh, I lived in Preston for twelve years, tried Jones's pies just the once, dry as ****, never again. I just reckoned it was people with poor taste that'd given them a glowing reputation, you've just confirmed that my thoughts were correct Chazz
With us being a group comprising of, some retired, some day workers and some shift workers it takes a fair bit of fixing dates - the week in Scotland looks good, we spend first and last night at the Buccleuch Arms in Moffat (a REALLY biker friendly pub) before spending the rest of the week exploring the West Coast. The European tour for next year is a trip to Slovenia; Zeebrugge to Luxembourg, then to Munich before riding to, and spending four nights in Slovenia before the return via same route. It's a lot of traveling for four days playtime but, it's pastures new for me and as I head towards my mid 60's (relatively unscathed) I'm gonna enjoy it while I can.
Oh mate - that's gutting, we all have to give up some time but, having to give up early through injury is ****. Just remembered - a couple of years ago a guy at Willie Woods reckoned this piece of kit did away with the need for life-savers, I was dubious but the guy was adamant. Check it out. It's called RiderScan.
Good choice Slovenia for biking especially around the lake Bled area, just don't forget to buy their road tax sticker 150 Euro fine if they catch you without one.
Bringing the thread back onto food you need to try this when you are there. Not a pie but cream cake. please log in to view this image
I agree with you on this one. The meat and potato pie from Jones is lovely. Fields is defo overated just like Hull Pie.
I have to be honest - I hate sponge cake. Makes me want to vomit. Sponge cake of any description - horrible stuff.
Can we just focus on what companies specialise in Fields pies may not be the best in the world, although I think they're ok, but that's because Fields is for sausages...everything else they sell is simply something to have with their amazing sausages (including their vanilla slices) I also like the fact you can get a beer with your breakfast at Fields too mind you
They are huge indeed. On a vaguely linked topic I was once abroad somewhere when pretty much all we consumed one weekend was beer and vanilla slices!
