Yes, a strange adornment for a Tory PM. It was hard not to feel sorry for her today, but I managed it. She brought all this on herself - well, maybe not the cough and the P45 stunt, but you know what I mean.

She said we should worship the wealth creators

    Blessed are the cheese makers

As for the cough I can only conclude it was god’s work to prevent the bile having any flow

The more she tried to contain the fur ball the more the idiots clapped

2bn quid on social housing over the next five years when we spend 6.6bn quid a year playing bingo on the lottery

    Money it’s the future

As critical as I have been of May, I do feel sorry for her on a human level. She looks on the verge of a break down!
The tories are in a mess!

Not following the Tory conference so closely, but May has actually shown some links with the rest of humanity since the election, and in some clips I saw from her speech yesterday. A great improvement on Thatcher who she reminded me of initially but no longer, and also on Boris Johnson. The direction of her post election proposals on pay, social policy and a slight pulling back on hard Brexit with the proposed transition period, seem to move the Conservatives back towards the Centre, and I expect would make Labours prospects of winning the next election more difficult if she actually achieves much of this.

The speech she made outside number 10 when she first became PM was actually quite good, as was some of yesterday's stuff. The thing is, the actions of her government are in stark contrast to all her talk of righting injustices and giving a voice to the less fortunate - she says one thing and does another. She actually tried to portray the Tories as the compassionate party yesterday for ****'s sake! I really don't think she believes in any of that stuff (or anything at all really), it's just a desperate attempt to keep her job. It's impossible to see her leading the Tories into the next election, but she might just stay on until Brexit negotiations are completed, and then only because no one else (other than Johnson, perhaps) wants to take on the poisoned chalice that is Brexit.

Car sales in September, usually big because of licence plate change, down 9% on last year. I think this is because people are stuck with diesels (sales down 20%) which have seen a collapse in value because of the environmental stuff, and now they can’t afford to trade up. Car manufacturers will need a buy back/scrappage scheme to get things moving again.

But if the market continues to shrink, BMWs alleged influence on Brexit deal will too.........

Born in Hamburg. Trained with IBM and became chairman. Ex president of the federation of German Industries.

This is a clearly a man with immense good business and common sense who is prepared to call out the professional bureaucrats in Brussels. Thank God the EU Parliament has members like this. Top man.

    Rees Mogg for PM!
May is finished and the country needs strong leadership. Anything but Corbyn and the awful Abbott, they would reck the country.

    From Wiki
A staunch Eurosceptic who once called for the Conservatives to form a political pact with the UK Independence Party, Rees-Mogg is one of the Conservatives' most rebellious MPs. As a practising Roman Catholic, Rees-Mogg opposed same-sex marriage on the basis that on such matters he took his whip from the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, not the Whip's Office.

Speaking in July 2017 Rees-Mogg conceded that '"I’ve made no pretence to be a modern man at all, ever". During the same interview, Rees-Mogg admitted that he had never changed a nappy, noting that “I don’t think nanny would approve because I’m sure she’d think I wouldn’t do it properly”

Regarding same-sex marriage, Rees-Mogg has stated that he is opposed to it and "not proud" of it being legal as it does not align with his Catholic faith[99] and that it will alienate traditional supporters of the party.

Also relating to his religious views, Rees-Mogg is against abortion in all circumstances, including in cases of rape, stating "I am completely opposed to abortion, life begins at the point of conception.

In December 2014, Rees-Mogg was reported to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority for speaking in debates on tobacco, mining and oil and gas without first verbally declaring he is founding partner and director of Somerset Capital which manages multimillion-pound investments in these sectors

And even the Catholic church think he is off-the-planet

He was one of the directors of the Catholic Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in London who were ordered to resign by Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor in February 2008 after protracted arguments over the adoption of a tighter ethical code banning non-Catholic practices such as abortions and gender reassignment surgery at the hospital.

    Heaven forbid this happens!

I think Jake might improve the nation’s spelling too.

May talked about ‘the British dream’ yesterday.

Any volunteers to tell me what this is? Hopefully something more than owning your own home and being richer than your parents.
