Honest answer is I don't know. For me his weaknesses might be a combination of stubbornness (think keeper, not resting Phillips) and trying to be too clever (think leaving out Saiz & Lasogga). The "midweek" cup team looked up for it against burnley whilst the first team looked flat (playing like their positions are safe). If cup games are to give those left out a chance to shine, if they do they're surely worth a few minutes of a league game. And of course there is the possibility we're overreacting to a couple of poor results.
Quite true - Billy was jesting, but when you look at it Grayson much better than Thomas Hockaday. Green much much better than Felix Silvestri Lassoga and Pennington are not even yours to transfer list are the others good enough for your U23s Erwin is a carthorse, but Matt Smith, McCormack, Snodgrass, & Howson are far better than what you have now!!
