An old postie I drink with tells a tale of a fool-proof way of fettling charging dogs - in his early days he was bitten and later advised by an older postie to carry a bag of fine sand, the stuff found in bird cage bottoms, as the dog charges throw a handfull into it's eyes ...... he was never bitten again.
Saw on the news that there are plans to increase the maximum penalty for cruelty to animals to 15 years in jail.
We've all seen pictures of horrific dog bites; people have been killed by out of control dogs - I'd say there's no cruelty involved in defending yourself against an out of control dog.
A difference between defending yourself against an out of control animal, usually owned by inadequates with low esteem, and prolonged and deliberate ill treatment of animals.
Just going off topic here BT - meeting the gents tonight to arrange next years jaunt on the bikes, a week touring the Scottish Highlands
Exactly Barca - ill treatment of something that loves an owner, unconditionally, is totally beyond my understanding.
Next year, I sometimes plan a week or two in advance more often than not a few days, once or twice it's been down to a few hours. Scotland's OK but can't beat Europe, there's loads of it to explore.
I quite like the pies they have now, the Balti ones are great. Pukka ones tend to be full of grissle. They've obviously done it to get a more marketable brand in the stands, perhaps to encourage away fans. The hotdogs are smaller too. My brother ordered one of the pizzas, turns out it's actually only quarter of a pizza, not a whole one. Which is bullshit.
