If we drop out of the top 4 he should leave, no doubt in my mind about it.

Why wait till we drop out of the top four? The man needs to leave now. No more excuses, it's pathetic.

top 4 - don't make me laugh. The way we've started, injuries, red cards etc. Top 8 would be more like it.

Surely the empty seats shows your fans have lost faith in wenger , or was the rain to blame and fans went else where to cover to watch the game ???

    And today's attendance was.... 60,090.
Arsenal's attendance figures aren't actually based on attendance.

The game was totally sold out though, obviously, so the board won't care.

True, you don't want to make the same mistake as the scousers - they kept Rafa for a year too long

It's the most annoying thing in the world to see Wenger dodge every single question deflected at him - If he just said 'I don't think we need more players' then fine, instead of giving us this cryptic bullshit.

  9. Arsene has all the symptoms of some who is in complete denial. I really don't see how he can survive the month let alone the entire season. We risk being out of the CL this coming week and even if we should get through, how far we get in the competition is anyone's guess. Next weekend we visit Utd. There was a time I recall that Utd was virtually a walkover for us. Now it's the other way around so this time next Sunday we could be at the bottom of the EPL. If we don't have a major signing at the very least, our morale will be at rock bottom too . If Arsene stays we are likely to have transfer requests from anyone we would like to keep. His position is quite untenable.

The other problem, as RVB partially addressed is your run-ins. St James Park isn't an easy place to go and get 3 points, barely any places are now in the Premiership, and then followed up by a rejuvinated Liverpool side (Ok, we played fairly average, but the second you lost your other CB, it was hard times for you) then with trips to OT and Italy coming up, I think this is one of the hardest starts to the season I can remember Arsenal having.

Add in the injuries, suspensions and transfers (Outgoing), it's very difficult to see Arsenal not being pulled down into the whirlwind of discontent you see now. Though, I think Wenger (as much as I dislike his media style, hard to hate the man for what he's done for the Premier League) is probably the only person I can see actually pulling this out of the bag for Arsenal. Who else would be able to come in, impose their own style on the team and get them winning? Look at what will happened to Man Utd after Fergie leaves, it's going to be a void that will create an even worse situation.

When Rafa left, Liverpool were in free-fall, and it wasn't until late last season that it looked like we would actually beat anybody, and that season started off with a disappointing draw with Arsenal (If only because of the way we conceded) which created the downspiral. I think Arsenal have got enough in them, and with the pedgree of Wenger, to still be challenging for 4th this year, despite the depleted squad and bad start. Class doesn't just disappear.

Ugh, feel sick saying positive things about Arsenal, but I think it's very difficult to have an acurate judge of your team when you feel so passionately about them.

  11. Well K3 this period would have been better approached had Arsene planned ahead. The schedule was known a while back and we have supposedly had a summer to look at replacements and also strengthen the team. It was already a weak one that endured that closing month or two of the last season having not been reinforced in the January transfer window. Now with key players gone and not replaced, with suspensions and injuries, not meeting the need to have organised our transfer by now is really costing us. It is difficult to envisage who will be brought in over the next ten days if all summer, this matter had not been put to bed so to speak.

Class as you say just doesn't disappear but it has been sold off during the summer. What now are the chances of Nasri staying anyway and what indeed are the chances of getting world class replacements at this late stage especially as our manager lacks the will or foresight to spend. This financially sustainable model is incomplete since it ignores the income stream the club is able to derive from being a participant and challenger in the leading competitions. To secure that income stream requires investment. There has been none that addresses our immediate needs. So there is a grave risk to securing the end product because of the absence of the means by which to achieve it.

I know nothing about the internal dynamics of Arsenal so everything I say is purely speculative.

You complain that Wenger has not planned properly and bought in replacements. If that is the case then you have to ask yourself why. Who at your club is really controling the purse strings? I don't believe that Wenger cannot see what the rest of the Premiership have seen for the last couple of seasons - poor defensive record, lack of leadership and a propensity to run out of steam at the business-end of the season. You have been linked with the likes of Cahill and mata - yet neither of these transfers have actually taken place. However, you spend £12 million on another young chance - it doesn't make sense!

Now maybe it is a result of the control battle that you have had. Maybe it is the global financial situation. Maybe the stadium is actually costing more than has been reported. But somewhere the cash, or at least the willingness to borrow is being choked.

You now face a situation wherein you are seen to be in a desperate position when it comes to the trnsfer market. This can only mean that you negotiating position is weakened and hence prices likley to be higher.
