Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani's future could finally be settled as Italian giants AC MIlan are keen to acquire his signature before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, according to reports in the Daily Mirror. Aquilani joined the Anfield club in 2009 for £17million from Roma, and in his first season with the side made 26 appearances in the Premier League. However since then things haven't worked out for the Italian international, with a number of managerial changes happening at Liverpool. This summer more midfielders have been brought into the club including, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson, leaving Aquilani even further down the pecking order. Last season the 27-year-old only made two appearances for the Reds an both of those came in the Europa League. The midfielder then went out on loan to Serie A outfit Juventus last August on a season long loan deal and enjoyed more success making 34 appearances for the club in all competitions and scored two goals. During his time with Juventus Aquilani had a successful passing rate of 80% but the Italian would not meet Liverpool's £14m valuation of the player to take him to the club on a permanent basis. Earlier this summer a move to Fiorentina collapsed, but AC Milan now feel the lure of Champions League football could see Aquilani return for another spell in Serie A. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/media-watch/14m-midfielder-set-for-exit
usual press tripe. If AC Milan had actually tabled an offer then you would have official quotes rather than this mere speculation. Let's see if he is in the squad for today.
"Cash-strapped" Milan also reported to want Balotelli and Crouch and they reckon the "lure" of Champions' League footy will get them Aqua for a year's loan.
Cant see him staying. He hasn't been involved in either games now so would think it's odds on he's going to leave.
That makes me think discussions are still underway but I can't see John Henry letting a player who's impressed him go on another year's loan. If that were the case Aqua would be back at Juventus already.
Agreed, I think he should either be sold or kept. Another loan deal is pointless. He proved at Juve last year that he was a decent player so if no one wants to pay up then he'll be a brilliant player to either start or come off the bench.
He'd be a great signing for Milan, they really need a link up player in midfield. Hope he gets fitted in at Anfield though.
Hasn't been involved in the first two games so i've got a feeling he is on his way out. Massive shame in my opinion.
