Against the top aides out defensive record isn’t an awful lot worse than the rest though. Ignoring the City result, we didn’t concede many against the bigger teams last year. Sure someone could dig out stat of ours goals per game conceded v rest of top 6 compared to rest of League.
I'm no more worried about this game than any other. As I don't give a **** what my plazzy manc mates think, it's the points that concern me, and we're just as likely to play well against them as anyone. It might be a drubbing, or it just might be the sort of game that we put some effort into. It'll be interesting to see José's tactics. Seeing as they're on a good run and we're not will he go for the usual stifle the game and hope to snatch it approach, or will he go all out and play?
So 33 in 28 games against others. Ridiculous thatbwere better defensively against teams that pose us more of s threat. Does show that it’s concentration and positioning that is a huge issue
Can't see us getting anything from this game if we stick to the team that played against Newcastle. Need Milner sitting in front of the defence to improve matters and keep the score down to something not to embarrassing.
This will be MU's first real test this season though, they haven't really played anyone yet with respect to Everton and Southampton. Everton are starting slowly and Southampton were unlucky (again v MU) not to get something out of the game. Even in the CL they haven't been tested thus far, and had Burton in the LC. We will ask more questions of their set up and (hopefully) won't allow them to dictate the game. Oh, and we're at home so lots of support please.
I am not worried. Its a big game where our players somehow find form for no apparent reason. I know he is out of form but Wijnaldum plays well against all the big sides. The question is who plays in the middle? Cout Wiji Hendo or Cout Can Hendo. Henderson always plays unless he picks up an injury. My only worry is the pace from Rashford and whoever plays RB. The one way to beat Mourinho in such games is an early goal as they are forced to play and that is where our counter attacking play will come in handy. If it gets to half time at 0-0 or 0-1 to united I do not see our boys having the mental strength to come back.
Everton's main transfer aim was to not replace Lukaku and Southampton's was to not sell Van Dijk. No wonder they're both relegation candidates this season.
Utd are far better than us this season. I expect us to lose, maybe get a draw. They are riding high and we are not.
Our midfielders will have a crucial role in particular Henderson and Wiji. They have to perform the Matic role in protecting the back four and stopping the likes of mkhitarian and Rashford. If these two have the freedom of the park we will be in trouble. This is the time when Salah takes the chances that come his way. He's wasted so many chances in the last few matches. Let's pray he kicks that habit. But IMO our key player will be Mignolet. He cannot afford to have an off day and needs to be on his game. Fantastic if he could match the guy at the other end of the pitch.
Imo the lads saying our lot will up their game massive will prob be right. The worries I have are: 1.utd attack the channels. Lukaku, Mata, Rashford if any space wide of cos then they score from here. We know our full backs will be AWOL. 2. Utd crossing from young and Valencia. We know our full backs will let it in. 3. Lovren is ****ed. Lukaku loves that left cb channel... he will run the guy... If klavan plays it's as bad. 4. Set piece. Most of utds team are tall. Felliani, matic, luvky, cbs etc. Our small arses cant defend against that. Now.... We all know mourinho is a dont lose merchant. I think we will trouble Utd but I agree with tones. Lfc must score first or we will be toast.
Maureen will settle for a draw. We'll likely draw but I'd love us to cut them wide open and expose their soft underbelly.
