Sousa knows how to score 40 goals in 46 games in a " Championship " season Bob , his system would be eaten alive in the Premier IMO . We all ready have enough attacking problems .

I'm dead against " Au Revoir " Clement .But at the same time the longer this goes on without improvement and him not being sacked , speaks volumes to the harshness of Guidolin's sacking .... ( on his birthday ) with Huw already talking to Bradley before Guidolin's 7th and last game . Volumes .....

None of them are credited as good premiership managers.....We wont pay the going rate or let them run the team to get a proper premiership standard manager, They turn us down and are not interested.........Good managers should be queuing up to manage a club 7 years in the premiership.......Pay peanuts get monkey....

Sousa was crying out for a goal scorer he was given Kuqui, Mr Glass and a staggeringly inept Trundle (I recall the game he did kewpie uppieon the corner flag when with 5 minutes to go and we were 2 nil down)!
He got us to our highest finish for 25 years without an attack force.
Since leaving the English leagues (and he admitted he made mistakes in leaving us and joining Leicester) he has averaged 1.9 points per game (season equivalent of 70 points) & 2.5 goals a game (season equivalent of 95)
He taught us how to defend (Roberto couldn't) and Rodgers benefitted from that.

    Back in a flash.

I dont think even he could teach this bunch of misfits......We were in the championship then and it will be a different story trying to teach substandard defenders to be premiership defenders....Sousa was very good but his football was a touch boring.

One year ago today this was the news

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap...ns-Swansea-future-doubt-losing-Liverpool.html

Guidolin's Swansea future in doubt after losing to Liverpool

SWANSEA, Wales (AP) — Francesco Guidolin's future as Swansea manager looks bleak after Liverpool fought back to win 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.
Guidolin said before the game that his job was in jeopardy if Swansea, winless since the opening day of the season and just above the relegation zone, did not beat Liverpool.
Liverpool swept to a fourth straight victory despite Guidolin seeing Swansea produce its best performance of the season.

    Liverpool fought back
    Liverpool
    fought
    back
    Not
Swansea limply surrendered to a team that was hammered 6 - 0 the week before.
    or
Swansea gave up to a team looking to sack their manager because they have been so poor.

Yet where are the headlines about Clement's future looking bleak?

..... virtually everybody was, at one stage or more, unhappy with his defensive style of play.

Yet, at times, even Guido's style seems positively attacking compared with what PC has us doing.....

20/1 not the favourite then, It's nonsensical suggesting sacking him at this stage but then I've read a lot of nonsense over time on this forum

nonsensical or not - by this stage last year Guidolin had been a daily feature in the sacking headlines for 5 weeks.
If it was right to get rid of Guidolin it's mo so for Clement.
At least Guidolin had us coming closing to taking pints from Liverpool and Man City even though he had no pre-season to talk of, player power shouting off (Taylor), late returnees and c£40 million less spent on the team.

Clement isn't the problem imo. Our gluttonous, arrogant, thick-as-****, new owners are the problem.

They have grabbed the club by its balls and squeezed it dry by draining out all of the cash locked up in the execess and assets contained in the squad. They dunped off the exess, Gomis, Baston and converted the savings into profit, they've also converted the sqauds assets directly into cash which now sits nicely in bank accounts accross the pond.

They have emasculated us as a football team and the yanks have left Clement with a dry, empty husk of a squad, with no quality, fight, spirit or talent. The only thing it does well is shoot blanks.

Even so, all of this would've been OK if they replenished the squad with players of similar quality and spirit but no. All of the MEN we had were replaced by a lesser breed of player possessing only a portion of the quality drained from the squad.

To add insult to injury we don't even own some of the **** squad of players we have as two of them aren't here to play for the Swans but are here to learn their trade, learn how to play football. When was it decided and by who that Swansea City FC would no longer be a premier league football club but would be treated like some ****in finishing school for other clubs failures :headbang:

So, I have to keep saying it because I dont beleive it but the state of play as, we've sold off everything that was worth keeping, we've replaced those sold with a load of dowdy, low end furniture, for sparkle we've rented a couple of trinkets we will never be able to realy enjoy because, if we can shine them up nicely, we'll have to give them back to their owners. The only way we'll get to buy them is if they turn out to be cheap ****. Thats who we are now, a finishing school for other clubs problem children.

Lets face it folks, with the yanks calling the shots we're dead. This season again we'll be staring into the relegation abyss but this season we don't have any MEN in our squad to save us.

Our demise will have nothing to do with Clement imo, because no manager can do anything with the players we have. We dont have a full squad of players to build any success on. Ki is the best attacking midfielder we currently have, I rest my case.

Disagree. Plenty of managers came out this summer and said they weren't happy with their recruitment etc. Clement should have grown a pair and done the same, rather than come across as a puppet who does as he's told etc.

Dont agree Valley. PC and the club were ****ed over by the seppos because of the Siggy saga. They put everything on hold while they milked all they could get for Siggy and it cost Clement and the club the entire transfer window.

PC was saying all summer he needed the situation resolved ASAP but the yanks stopped all negotiations and put all their efforts into getting a big pay off for Siggy and that is all they concentrated on the entire transfer window. They even came out and said that we cant sign any players until the siggy saga was over. When they tried they even ****ed that up by getting the papaer work in late for a RB in the lst hour of the window because they were trying to get the guy on the cheap.

All the bids they allegedly made were either fake of insulting, £2m for a £15m rated rb, £5m first bid for Bony, fake bid for Allen. Thay ****ed around all window to squeeze all they could out of Everton.

It was the seppos that ****ed us in the window not PC.
