When the gunman killed all those young kids at Sandy Hook school, the NRA response was to have all the teachers armed.....they must have a special kind of moron working in that association.
Not sure about this year but last year more Americans were shot dead by their own pre-teenage children accidentally getting hold of guns than by terrorists.

Apparently ISIS are claiming responsibility as he converted to islam months ago. No idea whether there`s any truth in it mind. Edit: Terror experts have expressed their surprise at ISIS claiming the attack, but pointed out the two statements were released on ISIS' official primary news source. Rita Katz, director of SITE Intelligence Group, said it was a "rare event" for Amaq to release a follow-up statement about Paddock supposedly converting to Islam "months ago". But, she added given what is known of Paddock, ISIS needs evidence, otherwise it "might make ISIS appear (more) desperate for claims". A senior US official said security agencies are examining ISIS's claim of responsibility but have not yet verified it. No wiser
The press yesterday were saying it is not thought to be terrorism related - it caused terror for hundreds/thousands of people - why do ISIS have to be involved for it to be terrorism - or is there only one form of terror now? (Not ranting at you Bri just the way that this is put across by the authorities and press! OK say it wasn't related to any extremist group but don't say it wasn't terrorism - it bloody was by pure definition!!)

Was it politically motivated? Pretty sure it's not terrorism if there's no political aim. ETA, the IRA, ISIS and even Escobar's Medellin cartel were terrorists as the performed atrocities to fight for their political beliefs. Thought this bloke was just a ****ing whack job.
