I didn't see the game but I'd drop Gini and tell Milner to sit in front of the back four in the Lucas position.

he has the nous to play this role

The City drubbing seems to have seriously deflated them. Confidence is low.
Tbh, the defence didn't do all that badly today, by our standards. The CB's went to sleep for the goal, but overall weren't seriously troubled otherwise. The attack is having a collective nightmare run, but they'll get over it.
Oddly enough, we were better before Coutinho came back. :)

    I'd drop Henderson. Does nothing.

    Not worthy of the Captaincy

But it’s so frustrating that we don’t have to defend all that much but when we do, we literally roll out the red carpet for the opposition to score.

Most of the goals we have conceded are soft and preventable.

    True.
I do believe a strong DM would be more effective generally than a CB though.
I might be kidding myself, but we seem marginally better at defending set pieces than we were.

I’m hoping that by some miracle we manage to get Keita in January.

We need to upgrade the 3 at the back - the cb’s and DM. Complete overhaul.

That's an easy one to answer. Something he picked up at the Toon. He always went missing in away games so he was told not to move so the others would know where he was.

As I've been saying for along time now. Jurgen Klopp is a spent force at Liverpool, who has been running out of ideas for most of this calendar year.

The worrying thing if your a Liverpool fan today, is that this was not down to Newcastle getting lucky. They matched you in most departments, and could have won the game themselves.

I think it's only a matter of time now, before you lot start to realise the man in charge is completely out of his depth. I don't think he will last the season.

Only if we'd have put the ball in our net for them.
But we couldn't even manage that.

That's true, they had twice as many shots on target but still only managed the one goal.

All of their shots were weak efforts from distance that Mig would have thrown his cap on if he'd had one.
Even the goal was a flukey rebound.
    Next.

Firminho only works well with Couthino alongside him. Ford needs to go back up top imo.

There's no point saying that we need a defensive midfielder as Klopp simply doesn't want to play like that.....which is fine if you have the right players...just look at City....but we don't have the right players at all. Klopp needs to cut his cloth to suit....or he'll make us look like mugs.

Was at the game today and couldn't understand how you were set up.

Widj and Henderson in the middle doing nothing and Coutinho seemed mainly pushed out to your left. Have always liked Coutinho as a player since he dominayed a game up here a few years back but he doesn't seem to be given a main role which he is clearly suited for especially ahead of Widj and Henderson.

Up front wasn't sure who your main striker was meant to be. Don't think it was a clever plan to move our defense around just a combination of Sturridge and Salah messing about and not wanting to get in where it might hurt. Sturridge also seems to have seriously regressed from a few years back when paired with Suarez.

For me I'm pleased with the result even if it was a draw at home.

There is no top side in Europe who play without a solid defensive midfield player. Every team needs someone shielding the defence.

Klopp is already making you look like mugs with his bizarre tactics and team selections.
