I was dragged up on Euston Avenue. Steve Sherwood was in digs on Belgrave Avenue I believe. He used to pop into Robertson's for groceries quite regularly. As you say - you wouldn't see the likes of that these days.
After the match yesterday, I spent some time looking through various Kodi apps - on the hunt for one that gives better sports coverage. Finding one that was highly recommended, I downloaded & installed it - and used it to watch the Chelsea v Man City match. I have to say that I was totally gobsmacked by the quality - no buffering & crystal clear picture. When that match was finished, I noticed a section that provided highlights of all EPL/Championship matches + major ones from around Europe - and spent a large part of the evening watching them all (my wife had gone to Aberdeen to watch a musical - thankfully ). I'm now watching the Australian NRL Grand Final - same perfect picture. So, for anyone using Kodi to stream matches - give the app Rising Tide a go, it's the best I've come across.
A nice theme developing this season, 2 draws and one win from three 90+ minute goals.Richarlson has been involved in all three and Holebas two.....
I do not recall so many last gasp winners and equalisers! Hang over none existent this morning which must be due to the quality of the beer, not to mention the two litres of water I drank after I got home as my calves cramped up painfully later on..
tim sherwood obviously lived in less salubrious housing , being born and bred in borehamwood , my mam taught him in primary school , she says he was a good boy !!that means he didn't get expelled !
I used to work in Borehamwood - didn't think it was that bad. Every day, I used to walk past the studios where The Muppets were filmed and had a chuckle at the sign over the entrance to the private car park - Muppets Only.
i lived there from 63 - 75 ,and it was a growing suburb , the council estates , whilst of good quality housing , also had some problems , the other side of the railway , elstree , full of middle class types , the rest of the area was pretty mixed , but visited 10 years ago, wow , hardly recognised the place ! rebranding of pubs and schools etc and a different feel to the place , could be anywhere in london , however for me as a kid , the nearest local club was Watford , unfashionable , yes , but , genuine , one bus journey on the green line 306 i think , or two trips on the red buses , changing at stanmore , -- in my school,of over 600 , i was the only kid that supported watford , amazing really , my mates supported all the fashionable and glamour sides , chelsea , arsenal , spurs , man ure, leeds , west ham ,, even more qpr supporters than me !!! i'm sure that has changed a bit , we alll used to go to borehamwood fc when not on away trips , but as a young kid , in them days , that was fairly boring mostly . Now back in north wales , folllow Bangor City , a proud club , with a great history , try to get to the odd watford game in the north west, but have lost a lot of the connection with the club , very different to the old rookery days !
It is that - I still think we deserved to win that... Playing back the Carillo missed chance - is it my yellow-tinted glasses or did Dawson clip Richarlison's heels from behind, just before he crossed the ball? It certainly looked that way to me, going by the view from behind the goal-line. And Pulis had the cheek to complain about our last minute free kick.
i gave a lift to lad from the 1881 and they got the beers in at 1/2 time hey asked to join them (as i was on my own so all the 2ond half i was over with them sorry i missed you i have only meet one from this site and i look apon him as a true gent and someone that i proud to say i know
Not one commentator can get Richarlison's name right. Brazilians pronounce any word beginning with R with an H sound and cha is like an S, so sha, I is ee. So phonetically it's Hee-shar-lee-sonn. Congrats on your excellent start to the season, especially against them, I enjoyed that immensely.
You may well be right, but no-one (even Gomes) has commented about it. We do have a resident Brazil dweller (or at least he used to) on these this board - maybe he can shed some light on the correct pronunciation. Thanks for the final sentence - needless to say, we enjoyed it too.
That's how it's pronounced honest, I'm a big fan of the Campeonato Brasileiro, my wife's family mostly support Cruzeiro, but some have married into Atlético MG families. They endlessly talk about football. I thought we were a football crazy nation till I went there for the first time, they are nuts about it, some of them wear their club's football shirt every day, washing it out over night ready for tomorrow.
